Hello...

I am consider swordsmen but I am limited on SP. I can fill one line in the profession. The fourth tree looks the best giving accuracy and the ability to wield a scythe but i always hear complaints about speed. I have seen scythes for sale that once sliced have 2.0 around speed. So my question is... is the speed that important? or will I be fine with just accuracy tree.

What are the other trees you are working with in your character? If swordsman really has anything to offer you, and you don't have another melee combat profession, it is in the defense line. You'll get a nice area attack and the Melee Damage Mitigation, along with a little Melee and Ranged defense.

Swordsman seems to be more of an all-or-nothing investment.

I am a MBE and was planning on getting back my MCH. With creatures and my medic skills i generally keep my self from trouble. If i thought it worth it, i would consider dropping some CH for more Swordsmen.

It would truly take a monster to kill of my pets, all three are 9k 7k 7k HAM with 50% kin and armor and combined do almost 1200 kin damage, so defencively my strategy is if the creature goes after me and not my pets, then I sit and heal like crazy while they take it down. I am looking for a good damage dealing profession that also allows me to do some non kin damage.

I dont really do much PVP so defences arent as important... (CH in a pvp equation is sad right now)

In that case definitely go with the Swordsman Defense line. You can be right up there healing your pets and not take too much damage with the melee mitigation. You get spin attacks which are good for multiple targets, or hitting the mobs while you are also working on the lair. The techniques tree will get you mind hit and speed bonuses, but if you don't intend to be the main source of damage while hunting, you're much better off with the melee mitigation.
