does carbine/sword give you a good amount of counter attack? Im MHS and i rarely counter attack, but with 2 stacked profs, would this worked? i think this is the key to using carbines, cause frankly they blow. is this a good idea, or simply a waste of my time?

counterattack/block/dodge mods are capped at +125 (not counting food/SEAs) so it would be a waste of skill points to stack an additional +10
btw: start using CoB and watch yourself counterattack constantly

You'd be better off getting a profession with a lot of melee/ranged defense, such as fencer or TKA. Dunno if it affects counterattack specifically, although from what I've read it probably does, but attacks will be missing you loads more anyway.

i have looked at this template before and carbines gives an extra +80 to the counterattack mod ans since a MSMs counter attack is 110 then all u would need is 15+ since it caps at 125

I was a master carbineer/ master bounty hunter, changing to master swordsman right now.
I kept the carbineer line of counterattack. But its of little use, counterattack caps at 125, on my skill page.

Yes u can stack counterattack with swords/carbine as u can do that with fencer/pistoleer for dodge or pike/rifle for block...imo all capped at +125...blind/dizzy/stun/kd/pc imo capped at +90 and can stacked as well...

yeah as girth and Jounar said. they reduced the requirements to be bounty hunter, so we only need explore line from scout, instead of master scout. Can be master rifleman/master bh now if you wanted.

I've been carbineer/swordsman for a while now, and I like the combo. The swordsman part is dealing almost all damage, carbines are very bad for that. However, with all state-attacks and posture change/KD carbineeris very good for keeping otherwise running opponents on their backs, and constantly stunned/blinded. Even those who can cures those stats will have to do nothing else if they want to be free of them, as they're easy to apply fast.
It's also fun to play an unusual proffession for a change. Master Carbineer stands out among the 100 riflemen standing next to you...
As has been mentioned though, the additional counterattack doesn't do that much.

Dunno if they fixed this yet, but I was carbs until not to long ago, and the counterattack is bugged at +25. But swordsman counter with CoB runnin works just fine, so if you're just doin it to cap counter-attack for swords youre good to go.

Hi I made a mistake before, at the time my counterattack on skill page read 125. And I had been told that counterattack caps at 125, and thought i had capped out. I have progressed futher up the swordsman tree now, keeping counterattack line from carbines, and my counterattack nows reads 155 on skill page.
I haven't mastered sword yet, so I still have some more counterattack to get. The 125 cap people talk about for dodge/lock/counterattack how was this figured out?
And for those with dodge or counterattack above 125, are you finding it effective.
i think with master carbine and master sword you should be able to reach 185 or so counterattack.
At 155 I do counterattack alot, but don't know if this is anymore than someone at 125.
anyone other carbine/swordsman did any testing on high numbered counterattack?
