Thread: Question on PvP from a fallen Swordsman

depends on your macros and armour. If you don't get hit for all your health faster then you can heal yourself, and use blue milk or something to keep your mind up, you can be useful as a doc/swordsman because whatever they do to you, you'll undo.

However, if they kite you you have no defenses anymore besides the healing. If it's a rifleman, he'll attack your mind and that will be gone as well (unless you want to waste your stock of blue milk every fight)

Same goes for a fight against a swordsman, they'll use mind hits on you that eliminate your ability to heal more then a few times.

On the other hand you have carbineer. You'll have the maximum possible counter-attack mod, which is always good. Also, you can shoot them no matter where they are. Not to mention that carbineers have KD and dizzy if I recall right, and swordsman does not. Both of those are good weapons for PvP.

Against someone unable to target your mind pool you might last longer with the ability to heal yourself, but overall the dizzy, KD and ranged attacks make carbineer better for PvP I'd say

I'd say do what you want to do and not chase the current ubber template since the state of the combat proffessions is rather fluid atm with the changes the devs are implementing. That's unless you just like grinding proffessions all the time. The answer to your questions also depends on if you're in a guild or not and what type of PvP you engage in most frequently; group or solo.

Each template has its advantages and disadvantages. I'd say that if you're in a guild that has doctors then go mhs/mcarb if not then go mhs/mdoc.

Well, i sure kick ass... My guildie who i PvP with the most is a Doc/swordsman, i'd say that i last longer than he does while fully buffed, but he can just buff himself, and get right back out there, and my healing talents aren't too wonderful.

I'm basically the one to ask about this as I was Master Swordsmen/Master Doctor for the last two months and just changed my template last week to Master Swordsmen/Master Carbineer with TKA 0-0-0-4. And My current MHS/MC is MUCH better. And the defense acuity I gain from TKA 0-0-0-4 makes it even better. Unfortunetly I feel that with the next patch I wont be as good as I am now.

Ya, if your taking up carbine with H.S. just for up your counterattack... its not worth your time since in the next patch def stacks and dodge, counterattack, block stacks are being set to a limit. and personally I can't stand carbine heh I got mad when y hammer used to drain me... My God was it worse with a carbine lol. But since it seems rifleman will continue to be uber after this patch that sounds like a good idea... for PvP purposes theres alot of cool combinations you can think up I just suggest you get a high KD defense... with H.S, only at +25 you can still get dropped by the faster moving TK... if you dabble in fencer you could stack you KD defense though (didnt read anything about that getting nerfed)

The days of Carbineer fumbling are soon to be over...

Publish 7 will revise almost all the Carbineer specials and bring into line HAM costs and fix broken specials (chargeshot2 for example)

Also, the def mods will be capped, but at higher values than one mastered profession alone can achieve.

I'd say MHS/MC/TKM might be a nice choice. TKM gives you meditate and some good def mods. MC gives you a reliable ranged KD move. And MHS gives you some serious melee mind damage.

I was going to go Master Doctor /Master Swordsman with one of my characters, but was seduced by the dark side of the melee professions. (Tera Kasi)

What I would like to know is... would you say a Master Swordsman / Master Doc would be good in PvP or would a Master Swordsman / Carbineer be better?

Only Problem with that Bill, is that you don't have enough points for medic

Oh and Im not looking for an uber template, just an affective one.

I alraidy went Master Doc / Master TK , but the only problem is that this doesn't leave me with any range attacks.

I guess what I really want to know is this... Even with a low counter attack mod such as 125 (if that is the cap) would Center of Being still be effective? Reason I ask is that TK Center of Being totally sucks.
