Giving us a new damage type could be considered a balance issue, and force us to wait until the combat rebalance to have any change inplemented. Considering the treatment the devs have given ranged slugthrowers, citing balance concerns, I'm completely stunned that the razor knuckler has a new damage type. But that's digressing a bit too much...
AP3 kinetic would do a world of good for us in PvE, and not really affect the PvP (im)balance that gets so many logical changes hung up. The stats of the weapon are not unbalancing if AP3, and are frankly useless if it remains AP2.
The bottom line is that as the hack sits now, it's eye candy. While it's neat to run around with one now (I was lucky enough to have a friend loot the schematic), when the Death Watch bunker opens up and it becomes commonplace it will have absolutely nothing going for it.
I can't imagine that the dev(s) who modeled the weapon and worked on getting it into the game would be happy with the fact that in a few weeks this thing will be completely without worth.
