Thread: What's the highest AP weapon for a swordsman?

Hey all...I'm a TKM/Doc/CM looking to drop CM and pick up another melee prof...debating on Swordsman/Pikeman/Fencer. TKM's really lack in AP...took me the better part of 20mins to take out 1 Crystal Hunter. :-\ So I'm looking for a melee prof with decent AP. Please drop me a line.

lol, thats a cut n paste job from the pikeman forums, but anyway...
The Cleaver, Powerhammer and Scythe all have AP2 (medium) so take ur pick.

2H Curved is also Medium AP as is the new Hack if I am not mistaken.

lol well if u want ap fencer is NOT the way to go lol. Fencers can't really do any dmy and only have ap1. Unless ur talking about pvp with stun baton 
Out of the 4 melee 2HS is the heavy hittter, weapons do more dmg and mostly have ap2.

Ahh...sounds like swordsman is the way to go then. Thank you all very much for the info. And yeah, I did cut n' paste...what better way to get the right info than to post in the proper forums??

In a way the above poster is correct. I just dropped Fencer and am now grinding heavy swordsman (looking for that silent holo prof). No a fencer does not have a weapon with any AP however they do not need one. You must understand the armor of what your fighting. effectiveness listed is the base resist to all types of damage, resist is any resist different to effectivenes (usually higher but not always) and vulnerabilities are exactly that if an armor or beast has STUN vulnerablity then its like zero armor at all.

The vibroblade is AP1 for fencer, as is the new (and very rare) Black Metal Gaffi (check the fencer forum if you dont believe me), but they are so low damage that no one uses them.
Swordsman and pikemen both have AP2 weapons, swordsman has 4 or 5 of them though, whereas pikeman only has 1 (maybe 2 if you count the energy lance which is virtually nonexistent).
swordsman is definately the way to go for pve damage output. defenses aren't quite as good as tka or fencer but in terms of damage output against armored targets, you can't beat swordsman for melee.
