I have been without scout skills for nearly 6 months now. To me they were a waste of skill points to have when you can get skill tapes with +25 terrain neg. on them (granted I only have a total of +17, but its better than nothing). Even if you don't have any skill tapes it still isn't that bad, with riding swoops everywhere you go there is basically no reason to need to walk up hills or mountains unless you are the kiting type or you just really want to.

I was spoiled (or thought so) for a long time as I was a Master Scout. However after deciding to spend all of my 250 skill points on Melee Combat and dropping Scout all together, I really dont notice a difference. I use a swoop to get around and if i need to follow a mob up a hill/incline/mtn, I dont go straight up it, I take it at an angle and cruise right up it with little or no problems. Either that or hit burstrun. Trust me, unless you never used a vehicle and ran everywhere you went, you wont notice a difference.

i mostly pvp so scout is a waste, no hills in theed.i found some good food though incase i need to chase someone up a hill. forget the name but it adds 15 to terrain for like 20 or 30 mins and is only filling 8, so you could eat 10 if you really needed too. should work to get you out of a tight spot.

I just dropped scout too. No big difference. Not worth the SP.

I have exploration 1 which helps greatly for pve on dathomir, which is where I like to fight. Though when I was all melee, I used the food for terrain negotiation (travel biscuits I think). The +10 I got from the food was a lot better than having ) terrain negotiation, though it took me a while to find it on my server.

BE-enhanced Travel biscuits are the way to go!
I got a guildie chef to make me a few crates of Light Food Additives, and an artisan with 10 experiment points to make the Travel Biscuits schematic. The result? +18 terrain neg for 13 mins! Granted, you can't stack them for more than +18, but 18 is enough for chasing rancors up cliffs
