Rifleman is the best ranged class in PvE, it has a lot of damage types and very high power. Rifleman also deals very impressive damage,a master rifleman probably deals more damage than a master swordsman, if a rifleman is also master marksman they get +5 to speed, wich over doubles their damage per second, a swordsman with master brawler gets the same +5 to speed but it only adds about 20% to the damage per second. It is also a lot easier for a rifleman to hit the speed cap, a rifleman only needs +7 where a swordsman needs + 20. Where a rifleman falls down is defence, a rifleman cannot tank in the same way a swordsman can, against high end mobs a rifleman needs a tank.

I'm not sure which direction you want to take your template, I cant really think of a better template for PvE than doc/swords but if you were to replace swords with rifleman then you will be less effective at soloing things, but may form a slightly more powerfull damage dealer when hunting in groups. If you were to replace Doc with rifles then you have a very flexible and powerfull PvE template, this is probably not as powerfull as doc/swords but it can often get the job done quicker and in my opinion is great fun (can you guess my template )

To conclude, both are powerfull PvE rifleman has slightly better damage and swords has much better defenses, on its own swords is the best out of the 2 PvE and the compliment each other very well together

0/0/1/x (for spin attack 2 to attack multiple Mobs)

Then

0/4/1/x (for speed)

And Then

0/4/4/x (for defense i believe)

and Finally

4/4/4/x

Best way to do it...Get high end comp armor, buffs, muon, brandy, and your favorite power hammer and head to yavin's smuggler outpost. start there and work your way outward and kill EVERYTHING you see. and i mean EVERYTHING.

I was pulling in 700k to 900k in one buff session doing this. so like...2-3 hours worth.

If you do this method...even just one buff session a day, you can master swordsman fairly quick. like 3-4 days. But if you do multiple buff sessions a day, with some heavy grinding, you should master it even quicker. Enjoy!

(ps. dont be fooled by my sig, i was doing this method but havent been able to play in like 2 weeks because im getting my room fixed up. but before that, i just grinded for a few days and made all that progress. it works, trust me!)
