I am fencer/ and almost master swordsman. i got fencer hoping that it would give me good defences for swordsman. although if no one knows, the combat revamp will make it so that defences DO NOT stack. meaning that y ou have to be holding a weapon of that proffesion in order to get its defences.

dam that really sucks.. because i picked up Swords to do damage while my TKM side of me takes damage.

yeah, i really dont know how us swordsman are going to deal with soloing high end NPC's anymore...

thats the point- we wont 
but this will suck, i proably wont solo a krayt or elder before the revamp, meaning i probably never will

Hmm...Whats your prob with it? Im no defense stacker and can kill elders/krayts solo...

no worries, you still gotta while before the combat revamp.
also, peopel with tkm, it will still be usefull. you can apply all sorts of states with it.
but sometimes you just have to suck it up and take one for the community. this will improve the game in the long run.

master doc/ mastersword can pwn elders/krayts. If that is the only thing that will change with the combat revamp then high npc's still better hide

damn i was just going to drop mch and go tkm or fencer for the defenses.... cuz swordsman is my love and will never leave it. but oh well no need to do that now

Melee defense only works in PvP. And even then it affects how many times you are hit, not the amount of damage taken.
As for all the state defenses nothing you can really do about it anyway.
A swordsman/tkm/fencer is equal to a swordsman in NPC killing.

With buffs, armor, HAM costs and everything changing I doubt anyone will be soloing anything amymore and a diverse group will be the only way to handle high end mobs. Still a ways off though so do what you can now.

defense stacking doesn't really matter..I have master swords, 0340 smuggler, 4003 tk (Not like melee defense helps that much vs high lvl bad guys heh) and nov medic.. I do fine.
