I heard from Vyce on tarquinas that this weapon is pretty weak with low attack and speed and its our novice weapon for swordsmen (and should be our strongest..) is this true?

Power Hammers are Armor Piercing 2, and deals Blast damage. Even though a lot of armor protects against Blast, it's still not as common as Kinetic.

Basically, the Power Hammer has major damage bonuses that people just can't see yet, and if you go by the straight DPS off the weapon, you're going to get fooled.

Besides, a Power Hammer with 6.0 speed, and a good 30% slice can go down to 4.2 speed, and still retain all its massive damage.

If the PH were any faster, though, the HAM costs would probably kill you if you spammed your specials enough. The way it is now, though, anything you can't kill in 2 Head Shots from a PH was probably going to kill you anyway.

It may suck, but you need to factor in 156% higher damage than listedagainst AR0 mobs, and like 400% higher against AR2 (in comparison to the AR0 Curved Sword).

What I'm thinking is the Power Hammer may not be for all ocassions. Even vs AR0 and taking into account the 156% increase, the Curved Sword still has a higher DPS. BUT, against heavily armored stuff, that's when the PH shines. So, don't use it all the time, just bust it out for mobs that /ex as AR2 or possibly AR1.

aight thanks cause the way vyce tried to explain it it seemed that the power hammer had pretty much lower everything and that confused me :/

We found out our 2h curved sword may be AR2 so this weapon is useless if so

I will do more extensive testing and find out for sure. Oh.. and I'm a refugee from the Commando forum with over 200 posts over there, so I hope to find a new friendly atmosphere over here with less whining
