Thread: making money / exp on Dathomir
Some of you may have seen the threads on the main discussion board about the high payoff Baz Nitch (yes that is really thier name) lair missions on Dathomir. All the ranged players say its a great way for them to make money, without to much risk, but much harder for melee players.
This is how it works - (pretty simple really) - go to Dathomir, hit the mission term and grab a destroy mission for a Baz Nitch lair (or 2). They pay around 10,000 credits, and the lair gives 2-3000 weapons exp. So the high end ranged players run out to the mission, spam the lair with thier highest damage shot, while running around from any attacking baz nitches. Lair gets killed, take off running at top speed, boom, 10000 credits and a good chunk of exp.
Well, I decided to try it out and see how it worked for us swordsman. And it does work. Made a good chunk of money and exp last night. But it is slow going, and you will die. A lot.
First thing, put everything you don't need into safety deposit box. Bring only the nessecities, or what you don't mind insuring (most importantly weapon, I also brought a couple pieces of armor and clothes to wear, cause I didn't want to run around in my underwear, although this does cut into your profits). Make sure you hit the clone station and get cloned (1k). Insure your items, this cost me like 800 credits.
Now hit the mission term. Look for mission rewards 9800-10k. These will all be Baz Nitch lairs. I usually did one at a time, although get 2 if you feel strong. I would run out to the lair, ignore the mobs, and start wacking the lair hard as ya can. Should go down in around 5 hits (for me anyway). They don't seem to want to heal thier lair too badly, I only had a couple times where they even tried to heal. By this time you will have 3 or more giant biz natches smackin you around and you have 2 choices - run or die. And running usually leads to dying, although sometimes you can get away. But this bothered me not in the least, as it was a lot faster than walking back to the outpost to get new mission (in fact I hoped they killed me, if they just incapped I would just run to a night sister to get killed). So after whatever you spend for insurance, your net profit will be anywhere around 8k-10k per mission, and 2-3k weapon exp. Repeat ad nauseum ![]()
Don't forget to re-insure each time you get killed. And remember to pay for cloning, that way you don't have to worry about healing between missions. Now Dathomir is a very dangerous planet, lot of aggros. I would say be at least novice heavy sword to attempt this, and have a decent weapon, or you might be getting killed before you can detroy the lair. Be very careful when running to the mish, you will have to do a lot of detouring. Red mob animals aren't much trouble, you can usually get past them, but Nightsisters are basically instant death if they see you. And they aggro from a looong way off, so set your radar to 128m and keep them off or at the edge of the radar. All the missions I got were NW - N - NE. I had the best luck going NE, didn't seem to be as many night sister camps in that direction. Half the time I went NW, they would spawn on top of or just next to my mission, making it impossible. And be very careful with burst run, seemed to get me into more trouble than it was worth, as I usually ended up in the middle of a spawn of sisters before I could do anything to stop it.
So, if ya don't mind dying, its not a bad way to make money. A lot slower for us than our ranged buddies, but still not bad. Btw, I'm not interested in discussing whether this is an "exploit" or not, or if it should be nerfed,I see it as high-risk/high-reward,and we need all the help we can get!
DUH!~!!
congrats bro..
u just made everyone come to dathomir and guess what!!
its will be the endor.. laggy and stuff!!
and who is the fool made that? guess what!! its YOU!!
sorry cant help it... i just hate a ppl that bring a LAG!@
yes, all 10 of the swordsman in your galaxy will now go to Dathomir, OH THE HORROR!!
This has been known about by marksman for quite some time now, and I hardly ever see many people there. Maybe 5 were there last night. Maybe you could petition the dev's to make "Homemakers Private Planet", ya think? otherwise keep your uninformed opinions to yourself.
call me selfish, but hey, after what happened with the langlatches and jax, i thought people learned to keep that kind of stuff quiet (at least tell only your friends, not boast about it in forum)
i'm pretty sure in a week or two the biznatch will give 5k or lower money, and most likely will be BFA or their number will greatly reduced (more witches)
then again there really isn't anything wrong with the biznatch other than their money... i guess i just don't want it turning into noob-zone lok.
You have a valid point MrTokai,
But i have to agree with CaptMorgan.
Posting this "secret" on the swordsman board isnt exactly going to cause alot of crowding there.
Besides, if you need to be at least novice swordsman to survive there..........then that tells me that you wont see an increase of ppl there at all.
I play on bloodfin, and so far i have only seen one battlemaster, and very few other swordsman. Only a few apprentices. And no novices. I just got to novice last night.
I probably wont bother going there if theres agros everywhere.
I'll mindlessly attack just about anything......., but not if theres agros everywhere.

battlemaster? could it be me? lol... been running around with that lately ^^
btw, one of the TR on bloodfin has been a master sword and there is at least another master (i'll reach it soon if i stop playing frozen throne =/)
there are actually tons of swordsman nowadays.. well a lot at least..
as for dathomir... ah well... doesn't really matter i guess... sooner or later the fun is gonna be over
might as well get to the top asap while we can =)
sup guys. some of you may get offended by this post cause its considered an exploit, so be warned.
doingGBNL's as swordsman is very easy. I stopped doing this sincemasses ofpeoplestarted flocking to dath and pissing territorial lines all over.
Basically, as a swordsman, you don't even need to fight any baz nitches at all. This can be very tedious, but the best way I can describe this is to try and find aGBNL that is on a very high pitched vertical slope, and run into the middle of the lair geometry from the bottom side up. Once you are inside, the nitches dont have Line of Sight and will not attack you when you start attacking the lair from inside. They can heal it, but you can just go berzerk and heals wont matter.4k exp/400 combat per lair, and if its a mission, you get 10k creds for not even getting hit once. Just run around popping the lairs and let all the marksman kite and cleanup >=)
(as far as the lairs on flat ground are concerned, play with the prone and standing macros and you will eventually break the collision and go in)
