Thread: Can't Decide What To Do Help Me Out :)
Hi there, I'm a Wookie Battlemaster on the Ahazi server. Currently I have all but Master Offense and Finesse of the Swordsman tree, Rifle Specialist,Ranged Weapon Support 3, Explore and Hunting 4, Survival 2, Novice Creature Handler (I know, I know), all baseMedic skills at 4.
As it stands, this is my 250 skill points. Obviously I'm going to drop some things to get Master Swordsman when I obtain the needed experience.
What I'm currently debating is whether to further advance my Rifle Skills (probably dropping half of my Medic/Scout skills to do so) in order to be a two-dimensional fighter, capable at PvP (in theory). -or- Forget all about Marksman and go for Master Brawler, giving me a few more bonuses to Two-Handed Combat and giving me the ever useful Lunge 2.
What do you think? I'm really torn on this.
Personally, I'd keep rifle and not worry about more brawler XP.
GCW is just too integrated into this game to not ever do it. The Big Patch is all about the GCW so I think you'd be hurting yourself to be 100% melee. Melee is pretty worthless in PvP.
The Big Patch will also make it so that creature handlers cannot use a creature that they are personally not able to train, so your novice CH skill will be nearly worthless. You can drop that and maybe sacrifice a couple boxes in Scout (like Hunting) to get some more points.
You could lose Diagnostics and Organic Chemistry from the medic tree. You can buy stimpacks from other people and you probably don't need to heal all that fast anyway. Just keeping First Aid IV and Pharm IV will let you continue to heal yourself quite well with purchased Stim-C's. (I have a supplier that I buy factory crates of Stim-B's from, very handy.)
...
This is pretty much exactly my plan too. Originally I was going to make a rifleman/chef with some sword ability, but chefing is so broken that I just don't even care if they finally fix it now, so I'm going Master Rifleman, some medic (First Aid and Pharm), a little bit of scout maybe (I don't want to totally lose Exploration) and the rest into as much Swordsman as I can get.
Whatever you do, don't drop Exploration. I'd taken it for granted on my Old char, but now that I've started again I can't wait to get it back up again, hills suck without it ![]()
If you aren't going past novice CH I'd drop it too. When the big patch comes you'll likely only be able to call weak junk that isn't worth using.
Well, dropping scout is tempting. I'd forgotten that picking up Novice Scout alone is 15 skill points! Yow. If you can drop a whole newbie profession, that's a lot of points back. Though I agree that running up hills is a total pain without at least Exploration 2.
I'm hoping they get mounts and player vehicles out soon. Screw exploration, gimme a Dewback. ![]()
If you want to do pvp, snipershot is awesome. Many times when anchorhead gets invaded by imps, ill do some hit 3 or spin 3 and then run away while death blowing with sniper shot
