Hey, I'm a master BE, gonna be a master CH. I'll have enough skill pts left over to get 17 pts in either swords or tk. which should i do and which lines do you recommend?

I'd probably go for the Sword Techniques tree - you get the speed plus head hit 3.

However, as a Master CH, it seems like it would make more sense to go after a ranged weapon class - like Rifle. That way you can let your pets tank while you sit back 60m and shoot. With sword or tka, you'll end up tanking for your pets.

The only problem with swords to combine with CH is that most pets do health damage, so I would pick up TK if you are determined to get a melee class. My personal suggestion would be to go pistoleer, as you and your pets will both do health damage.

I thought pets did random pool damage?

"Random" pool dmg generally hits the red bar.

My opinion is that if your pet is tanking, then you need to get as much dmg as you can in before the pet bites it. I'd take sword techniques. You'll do way more dmg than tka.

The meditation line in TK is great, and combined with MCH you will have great solo ability, even without buffs due to powerboost. I love the huge damage output of swordsman though, and blast damage type. I'm now debating wether to drop swords, or rifle (when I master it) when I return to Creature Handler, or pick up TK or pistoleer which I have done before.

I was a MBE/MCH for a while and I took swordsman up to 0040, the defense line. I would routinely wade into battle with my pets. Of special enjoyment was getting out two pets with dizzy attacks and against npc's use the pets to dizzy and the area sweep attack of swordsman to knock them off their feet. It's great fun watching those STs or Mokks flopp around. In additon using a powerhammer which is blast damage means your usually able to hit a creature with something it's not resistant too. Kinetic from the pets and blast from yourself. Whereas if your TKA your limited to just kinetic I beleive. As to melee vs ranged. As a personal preference I like melee, sitting 70 meters away with a rifle just wasn't much fun I found. I like to be right up close in the action, plus then I don't have to jump up and run over to loot or harvest corpses. Again it's all personal preferrence there.

TKA all the way. Meditation will save you down the road and power boost rocks when your in a bind. Swords are pretty damn nice for damage too. But can you get both? You'll lose 15 points on novice brawler and then going up the neccassry trees?
