Hey,

I am really thinking of becomeing a swordsman but upon looking at their weapons I am wondering why they are called Swordsmen when there best weapon is a power hammer. If anyone can shed some light on this for me that would be awesome.

Thanks

Actually, it's called Heavy Swordsman(going by the apprentice, novice and master titling system). "Fencer" is actually the title granted by the Footwork line of the Swordsman profession(going by the apprentice, novice and master titling system). In all actuality, Swordsman should be renamed Mauler, or something similar, seeing as how our "swords" are no more than bashing weapons. Fencer should be renamed Swordsman, or something similar, seeing as how their weapons are no more rapiers than ours actual combat swords.

We should be called the "Warrior" class because we use everything from Axes to Swords to Hammers..............

If they designed another name other than "swordsman" I won't take it because I LOVE swords.

The underlying reason is that the devs felt that Swordsman was a better sounding title than 'two-handed-melee-weapon-user'.

In Starwars, hammers are considered to be in the insanely blunt sword class
