I'm a master Combat medic and I'm looking for a good supplment to my cm skills. I enjoy pistoleer but everyone and their brother is one and it's getting a bit old. Is Swordsman a fun profession? What are your strengths? Your weakness? How do you do in PvP? I will only be able to chose three full trees in swordsman, which ones should I chose first and why?

"Is Swordsman a fun profession?"

Of course!!

"What are your strengths?"

We do tons of damage, and can stack our bleeds for even more.

"Your weakness?"

No state changing attacks (stun, blind, etc) no knockdown.

"How do you do in PvP?"

About the same as every other melee class.

I'd get techniques, and finesse for sure, but it would bea touch choice between either defense or offense. If you want to take out large groups at once, then offense is the way to go. However, I think defense is more beneficial all around.

Good luck!

odin, you think someone gonna charge you when or if you have your rifle out. no sir, only against melee's. youll be usin ur rifle 90% or the time in pvp, hate to tell ya but its true.

swordsman is a great profession. its fun as hell, rewarding (except in one case), and unique. We hit hard, and we can hit an unhealable pool, and we also got an awesome mind bleed, or two of em actually.

in pve, we rock. but you have to have medic skills, or have a medic nearby, or ur gonna get ur arse worked. The only problem in pve with us is with npc's, which will kite you, and with the mobs that run away, which is a problem on the more deadly planets, as youll run into a group of mobs and die.

as for pvp, in battles were pretty awesome, the ranged users dont ever realy pay attention to us, untill we have a mind bleed and a head hit off on them. but when it comes to one on one, we fall short. any SMART and SKILLED ranged can kill us, and we dont have a kd to keep them near us. we cant hit while running, and thus get the "out of range" message for 9 out of 10 hits u do.

well, thats my view of swordsman. just fix our specials which all do the same thing, move mind bleed two or the 20+ accuracy to the empty finesse box, and maybe some more mods, and id me more than happy. but were currently awesome too, but we do need fixing.

Luchen, I made the same decision last nite. A sword is an ancient and honorable weapon. You can feel proud of the fact that you've actually gazed into Death's maw.

You can also attest that he needed a breathmint.

I think swordsman will do pretty well in pvp. I just recently started the path down the swordsman profession, but someone i know is a bit farther. He tested the first mind bleed on me(using a damagesliced power hammer)and hit for nearly 400 damage pvp lol.

Your right Eune we do hit hard. Catching them to hit them hard is the problem, which is why I don't Pvp much. Burst and hope they don't.

I just arrived at the gates of swordsman today. I spent two months asCommando, gimped and then beastly. I sold back the entire Master Commando package. My fantastic friend Rochelle hooked me up with a great powerhammer, I busted out my graul, got some master doctorbuffs and tanked Rancor all night. Oh my godwas it fun,so much more satisfying then point aim burn, wash rinse repeat. I had enough combat xp to get two levels of finesse right out of the gate. I loved all the abilities I had.

Only complaint was they were out of range a lot, if I didnt hit my posture down the stupid rancor would try to run from my hammer of doom. I have a great suit of composite (Munkey made it) that I got sliced up to 60% almost across the board. I never want to go back, if they fix the 5 moves doing the same thing great, if not I still have more options then I did as commando. I think I am going to add rifleman to my skills, so if they run from the hammer they get shot with the T21 and if they charge the rifle they get to face the Jutto hammer all on thei silly mind pool. I recomend it man so fun. Good times all glad to be aboard.

I would take tka instead, as they get better defense/speed and can target any pool. They have no bleeds but you won't need that with combat disease instead.
