Hey there. not to go into too much back story, I'll keep this part short.... lol I started this Char with the intention of becoming a BH, but, I found ranged combat boring... almost hit master marksman, and master scout, then changed everything.... I am now a Novice Swordsman 0-0-1-0, and am also working toward Master Brawler.... now, here is my interesting question.... Since the largest debate I've seen on here is TKM vs Master Swordsman.... why not just Master both? as I said, I am new (read naive), so not sure about this, but it seems to me that that would be a pretty powerful opponent. Please let me know what you think. I must say, that although I LOVE my 2 handed curved sword, the moves that a TKA gets are very cool looking, and the eye-candy effect is one of the biggest appeals for me... that and the speed. I know I will master swords, no matter what, but I want some input before I decide to basically spend twice as long mastering both. Sorry if I rambled...

Some people do...

However I think it's silly

Why have 2 melee classes, you cant use then at the same time, your really only adding the defence and moves of the other profeesion, but they dont really work in unison.

Having a ranged and a melee makes more sence to me, cuase you can shoot them, when they come, whip out the sword, and when they run pull out the gun again.

Me, I'm Master Swordsman, Master CH and novice pistoleer (going for trickshot)

And I always wanted to be a swordsman, the rest just came

Scout - the terren bonus (must have)

CH - I already was halfway there, why not have something to scare and chase those nasty runners

Pistoleer - Well my pets cant do all the work (Im very obsessed of taking care of my pet, they DONT do my work for me, only assist me, I fight along side my pets, taking damage with them, and healing them, I would die before I let my pet die, as they would do they same for me, can more CH's not use thier pets as thier personal scapegoats?)

NOTE if the kiting wasnt an issue, Id SO be a doctor

It's not a bad idea. In fact I recommend mixing up professions like that to get extra benefits.

Case in point I used to have the Balance Conditioning line in TKA when I was still working up Doctor to supplement my Master Swords. It gave me an extra debilitating attack (UKD2) along with some extra defenses for combat, in fact I would almost always start out with that move to (when combined with the nasty sword hits) ensure victory in single combat.

One of my guildmates is a riflewoman but has two trees in TKA and a tree in fencing along with it for the defensive bonuses and to have something to fall back on when the rifle is no good.

The best thing about this game in my opinion is the freedom of choice. You really can do anything you want and there really isn't a 'best' template out there, lots of things work depending on your playstyle.

The only potential problem I could see in completely mastering Swords and TKA is maybe not having enough points to do other useful things well (such as healing from the medical line, terrain nav from scout, etc). But by all means play with the generators out there to see what works for you.

Well, I sure do appreciate all the comments I've gotten so far. Thanks very much! now, to fully round-out what else I'm doing, if I master both of these and master brawler, I have 47 SP remaining. at the moment, I still have expert rifle, and I think I will keep it.... it gives me ranged support, puls another mind bleed.... and, with that, I can still have novice medic, and still be able to use stims. I know that Stim As aren't really worth it, and Stim Bs are about the same, but, at least I have them, right? lol only thing that bugs me is, I have ONE stinking SP left! grrrr. lol where the heck am I gonna put that??

Anyways, thanks again for all your replies, and I hope to hear some more.
