Not that effective.

Never seen anyone use it in actual combat

Before my melee days I was a pistoleer and just used all the tumbles to goof around and look dumb in PvP

Ranged Techniques II gives you Tumble to Standing, which supposedly grants a small defensive bonus (with the trade-off of not allowing specials.)

Anyone know how effective this is?

Tumble is completly and totally worthelss

It's great for helping someone get medical exp. Just set it tumble macro and let your friend(s) heal away for exp. Of course, it's not nearly as good as macro healing 12k life pets with full bar of wounds.

Nothing is better than my Sack Macro: /tackle; /tumbletoprone;
