Thread: Swordsmen XP
Ever tried Warcry? or Intimdate?
Warcry will delay your opponent for 10 seconds, and intimidate will half your opponents attack damage.
Add some 60-70% Kinetic resist Ubese ontop of that and you'll be cruising.
What are you killing for your xp exactly? You don't need to aim too high. If you have to go solo, I recommend doing the first few boxes of Swordsman on Rori, killing Leviaqualls and Shallow Tortons for 1k xp a piece. If you have CH friends, get em to take you to Dantooine. You can kill Pikets and Huurtons there for mad xp.
What weapons are you using? The best thing for you at Novice is a good 2hCurved sliced for Speed. You'll mow through the xp in no time.
You might wanna try getting a non-ch pet also, like a Cowardly Gurreck or Rock Beetle. If you send your pet in to attack, then keep 5-6 meters away from your opponent, they will not hit you.
The Gap between Apprentice Heavy Swordsman and Novice Heavy Swordsman isn't that huge as it may seem.
First of all:
Get yourself an Ubese Armor. It normally has good Kinetic Resistence, what is essential for Brawlers, as you are the closest to the enemy. It doesn't have to be a complete Ubese Armor Set. Better get a good jacket and a good helmet than getting a medium full set. Jacket and Helmet should do it for that level.
I nearly did all the way from Apprentice to Novice soloing Gurrcats on Corellia. Gurrcats are non-aggro but bringing friends, so be sure to pull them with full HAM-bars. When the whole pack sticks on you it's time to show them, who is the boss on battlefield. Spam Spin-Attack3-4 times and they all should be finished. After that harvest the creatures, heal up yourself and start again untill the lair is done.
Doing Gurrcat Missions that way i reached Novice Swordsman within a few hours, earned a lot of hide and also quite a lot of credits by missions and selling the harvest. Maybe i was lucky to get a real good 2H-Curved Sword from a High-Level-Swordsman for cheap, but Swords aren't that expensive anyway, so it shouldn't even be a problem to get yourself a new one. At least it would be worth the cost. Maybe you can also get some Tatooine Sunburst from a Chef, which would help you to shorten the downtime between the pulls.
I'm a wookie, so armor isn't an option for me. However, I agree with the above posters. Warcry is great. Getting some kinda of creature to help at least keep them occupied helps as well. The best thing I found was getting some medical xp. This allows you to use stim packs during a battle. This helps A LOT!
I also found that I could take out humbaba's (they didn't pack then- although they do now) and rogue bagerasets (both on Corellia) for some pretty decent xp. If it's any consolation- once you get further up the tree, you'll be able to kill things routinely for 2-4k experience. Really helps with the powering up the tree.
Oh, and if you haven't already, do not trade in any of your combat xp. I did for the ranged defense support (marksman tree). Wish I hadn't- it stores up and you'll need it to get to Master Swordsman.
Good luck. Don't know which server you're on, but if you happen to be on Gorath, look me up (Telgar).
Well I'm a Doc / Novice Swordsman and I'm having a blast soloingat Tusken Fortwithout any armor at all (call this solidarity to Wookies).
All you need are buffs on Health + Action and a crate of muon gold. I keep one on my toolbar at all time and whenever those tuskens bring my mind below 50%, I take the drugs....then....this extraordinary feeling hits me where everything seems clear.... Sorry.
Anyways, Swordsman profession rocks and if you couple that with Doc.... its just as good as when you take a muon gold for the first time.
