I recently joined the Swordsman rank after being told to become on by a Holo. I am still a MCH, MScout and letting go of my BH and Marksman to go into Swordsman. Needless to say I have very little experience. Now to my point. I have always used fighting macros. I created one for Swordsman consisting of Intimidate, Warcry, area attack1 and headhit1 rounding with a plain double hand strike. For some reason I dont land the intimidate as the first special as set up in my macro. My question is do you guys have macros set up and if so what do they consist of?

Since starting the profession I seem to get killed a lot. I do a lot of Rebel missions and although I use my animals I cant seem to come up on top. I need to make desicive blows count or spend the rest of the day chasing Imps Npc's, sometimes so far that they have respawn by the time I get back to kill the base. I cant use a Powerhammer yet, but I dont know if that would help me.

Any help will be appreciated. Please dont flame if I made a mistake on the name of the attacks Im doing this from sheer memory which is fading fast /sigh.

Welcome to the Swordsman forum

Unlike alot of the other forums, I rarely, see any flaming going on. Swordsmen on the whole seem to be a pretty nice bunch

Anyway, onto the questions..

I've been a Master since about the 3rd or 4th week after the game went live, and I have never used a long macro like that. The only macro I ever use for Sword Specials is the double bleed stack. I can't see long macro's like this being very useful to a swordsman, as Warcry/intimdate always take a couple of tries before they stick.

As a master swordsman/ch myself, I find rebel missions ridiculously easy, even the ones against ST's, DT's even AT-ST's. I'd always start rebel missions by sending my pet into attack the enemy base. This focuses all the NPC fire on the creature, allowing you to pick each one off with minimal fuss. If you stay 5-6m away from your opponent, then 90% of the time they wont hit you at all - for some reason they keep focusing their attacks towards the pet.

One mistake you're making is chasing kiters. Unless you have Burst on, you quite simply will never catch them.

If an npc kites you, do not chase. Run in the opposite direction, try and find some good cover (like a player house), or send your pet after them.

A Powerhammer won't help you until you have Master Techniques. Its too slow to be of any use until then.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply. I will redefine my style offighting. I had introduced the /follow to stay close to the individual I was attacking. It was not working very well either. Thanks
