Having just completed novice swordsman, i am wondering what the best way is to move up the skill tree. Are there any recomendations you all can give me to make my exp quest to master swordsman more enjoyable and my time spent more enjoyable. I love the profession so far. Killing things with a blade just seems to make it more personal.

Heh, I think this another one for FAQ, Gore.

Onto the question..

I think the Techniques line is the best route to take. Mainly for the speed. Makes things alot more fun.

Before the patch and CoB, I would have said, Techniques all up to 4 (maybe defense 1 along the way for the area attack, nice for experience in groups), then Offense, then Defense.

With Center of Beeing and the new Counterattack mods, I'd say raise Techniques and Defense in parallel (with maybe an emphasis on techniques first), then Offense last.

Thank you for the information. I will definately go the techniques route first. As for cob i have not used it very much seems to not last but 2 or 3 seconds at the novice swordsman lvl, good to know that it is much more effective later on.

While i have the thread going does anyone know if tissue mod clothing is worth getting. I was able to get some cloths with plus 4 melee defense and plus 15 to stun i believe. However, I have noticed that while updating my character the defense increase seems to be from 2 handed melee toughness. Just wondering if I was wasting my money on the custom skill mod cloths.

Ammok..

Center of being, like berserk is under the "other" tab. The ability Center of Being is gained at novice brawler, but it isn't really effective until you get into your elite professions some.

Hey all, Rifleman here who decided to pick up Swordsman to compliment my mind-targeting skills, and protect me from up-close encounters. I must say, Swordsman has been a ton of fun so far.

Here's my question.

After Novice Swordsman, it seems it's reccomended Techniques. But if I'm using the sword as a defensive tactic, might I be better building my defense skill tree first? Thanks.

The first box of defense helps alot, because spin2 is a good move. Techniques is a great box to master first but I didn't go up it first all the way. I went and got area attack 2 from the offense tree. I was able to take on large lairs of dewbacks n' stuff for great xp that way. and it helped me move up the rest of the trees quicker. And the toughness helped a bit. But I did the defense tree last, and it didn't seem to matter much in PvE. Mostly though I started on techniques 2, then got offense 3, then defense 1 for whatever reason, ( i don't remember) then offense 4, then techniques 4, then the rest of defense. (finesse obviously will go at it's own pace.) The thing is I got offense 1 on accident, and loved area attack so much I used it alot. Get some tatooine sunburn, and you can stand there and spin like a fool for days. While stuff falls at your feet.
