Thread: The worst part of the new patch...
...Is that I'm always using a curved sword and area attack one. ![]()
It just looks so cool! I had someone think I was a jedi while I was dueling a friend. ![]()
Other than that, counterattack is insane basically. However, it only seems to work if the person you're fighting isn't using specials. Has anyone else noticed this? I counterattacked a fencer practically to death, but once he started using specials, he basically broke through all my defenses.
Also, is it me, or is center of being either A) Not working, or B) Completely and utterly usesless?
Oh, and TKA's have a LOT more melee defense now. I could barely hit a TKM once in 20 swings.
Any input? ![]()
I'm doing the exact same thing..
CoB is working fine for me as far as PvE goes. PvP I countered a couple TKA attacks. Didn't miss him at all.
I'm still an aspiring swordsman (two handed III at the moment) and I'm still in love with my battle axe.
Tell me just how good is the curved sword?
Thanks.
I haven't used center of being against any master TKAs/fencers/pikemen yet, but against many professions it seems to work extremely well.
Against a master rifleman, without specials, he only hit me 1/4 times from 40m away, kneeling, and myself standing still.
Against a novice TKA, he never even hit me while using specials - EVERYTHING was counter attacked.
Against a carbineer, exact same results
If nothing else, center of being makes us far better at dealing with people with lesser skills, and creatures, making us better tanks.
(by the way, I'm a master)

The trend seems to be. That a master of any melee profession will destroy any other non-master melee profession (as it should be). However, at master level, the balance seems unclear. TKA's still have a huge advantage, obviously. With fenceras viable competitor, we may have a new oponent. Hehe
