Thread: How good is Lunge 2?

Was debating whether or not to go Master Brawler just to get the KD from Lunge 2. I just wanted some fellow Swordsman inputs that have Master Brawler to let me know if the KD is worth it. Does it work as good as the TKA KD? Any info is greatly appriciated.

Thx

Good. Better than no knockdown. But not great. Expect to use it a few times in a row to knock down bigger stuff.

don't listen to his lies, hehe no offense. Poster was talking about lunge 2, not lunge 1, It is hell lot of different. I can kd at 20 meters. I can KD anything, yes, anything, piket , graul. my succes rate is 80 % and above.

effzero, are you a master brawler?

Thanks alot, that is what I was wanting. I just don't want some cheesey KD that lets them get right back up in a second or so. Thanks for the good info.

I'm curious, how well does Lunge2 do in PvP?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's what most knockdowns do.. including Lunge2. Lunge 2 should be primarily used against kiters in order for you to catch up to them =)

Yup, I'm a master brawler. And lunge2 works more often than not. Pickets I find fall down ridiculously easy. But stuff like rancors, force sensitive NPC's, and anything with like 15k HAM and above takes a few tries to knockdown sometimes. But I do beleive we're all in agreement that it is a good thing. I think my original post was a little too hard on the move. It's better than that.

To keep a mob on the ground after a KD they need to be dizzy. Unarmed KD 2 does a dizzy/KD but our 2-handed lunge 2 just puts the mob on the ground for a few seconds. Sometimes they stand up fast, and sometimes they lay there for a bit. Lunge 2 is a great move but like the previous poster said, against FS NPC's and other high end mobs it is alittle bit harder to knock them down.

Ive never used Lunge 2 butusing Pistol Whip (1st box on the 4th tree of pistoleer) for my KD is not bad at all, also allows me to do a little range damage if needed (w/ stopping shot). My primary weapon is my sword but if the monsterim killing decides to run why bother chasing it, just pull out your pistol and finish it off.

I am a master tka and brawler. I am working on swordsman right now and i love lunge2. People say it doesnt well thats true but only if you are fighting things you shouldnt be fighting anyways. A combo i like to use is to use lunge 2 then use waycry 2 they stay on the ground longer and you can take away alot of health why they are on the ground.

As the previous poster stated, master brawler is great not only for lunge 2 but also for warcry 2. They should be used in combo.

Warcry 2 delays your opponents next action by 20 seconds. This includes standing. So once you knock them down, hit warcy 2 ( I use a macro with 3 instances warcry and just clear my combat queue, F5,once onesticks ). If you hit your hotkey as soon as your opponent goes down ( I look at the posture icon on my target bar and not at the creature ) you can always get at least 2 and sometimes 3 chances to get a warcry off before they stand back up.

This allows you to have upwards of 20 to 23 seconds of hitting your opponent while they are prone. Its great. Just make sure to get some +intimidate +warcry BE enhanced clothing. It helps a lot with making your warcry stick.

I had to give up masterbrawler (not enough points since I amalsoa TKM and MDnow)and I definitely misswarcry 2.
