i was on endor last night and i attacked a pack of four prowling gurrecks, i managed to nearly kill one of them and the other three were half dead. but the strange thing is one of them was bleeding (health pool) and the only attack i used was area attack 3... anybody had this happen before?

Maybe it was bleeding before you got to it?

The creature may also have used an area bleed, which it hit its friends with (and missed you with). Rancors do this also, in which case they end up fighting eachother.

Dunno.. just a guess..

i dont think it was that, because when i stood up from being incaped, i managed to get 60 or so meters away and when the next time it bled it charged me, and the whole time i was incaped it didnt attack its friends... so i'm sure i somehow bled it...

I've seen head hit 3 and two-hand hit 3 cause bleeds, VERY rarely. I don't know how much the bleeds tick for.

I have seen even TKAs reporting they caused a bleed on occasion somehow. There may be some sort of critical strike/wound formula in this game. Like if you happen to get max damage on a hit the game gives you a 5% chance to cause a bleed as well.Something like this wouldn't suprise me.

My VK causes bleeding a lot more now. I think it's part of the wound chance mod on the weapon. It's always health, and it's never much bleed(~150 I think), but every little bit helps?

I have noticed all sorts of state go onto mobs while I'm fighting them solo, none of which I am either capable of or intended to inflict. It seems to happen when you really lay ahardcore shot on the mob. It happened to my friend when I was dueling him and it was only a "-1" bleed.

My question about area attack 3 is this: doesn't it say in the description that it down posture and blinds opponents? I see the down posture but I have never seen the blind.

In my 2months of master heavy swords, i never seen bleed attack with area 3, BUT i have seen mobs with area bleed affecting others around it.
