Or is there anyone out there who has Master Swordsman and the fencer dodge line, and is planning on dropping it?

I know that melee and ranged defenses stack, but I'm wondering if the active defense modifiers work when using a weapon-type that does not give the +. (CA 2hd Swords/Carbine ; Dodge 1hd sword/pistol ; Block Pike/rifle). I know that anyone can CA (or dodge/block), but do the + modfiers make a difference. (NOTE: Some evidence has shown that ANYONE has a 3% chance of CA [and probably block/dodge], but does the + modfiers change anything?)

If there is a Dual Fencer/swordsman Master, could you run a few tests with different weapons, and using CoB and non using it?
