Dear Fellow Swordsman,

In the up coming patch a nerf to crafting has been found that will greatly impact swordsman weapons. As a swordsman/doctor myself, I buy from weaponsmiths that spend their extra experimentation points on aim modifiers, others might go for lower ham costs. In either case, from my understanding, this up coming nerf to experimentation will not let weaponsmiths experiment on either, forcing them to use all of theexperimentation points on dmg/speed. As a swordsman, do you ever miss in pvp? Its anoying isn't it. With this nerf it will make the problem even worse. Please sign the following petition to stop this nerf to crafting.

they'll still be able to make them the exact same way as now if they have the maxxed out +20 or more Experimentation from SEA's which will give them 2more chips to play with.

Actually, from what I've heard, melee weapons will be better after the patch. But it is stupid anyway, and it's definitely going to make armor craptacular. So yeah, down with the crafting nerf!

They may still change it before it goes live. Devs will post more information about this later today.

But the change as it is now should not hurt two-handed weapons almost at all, except vibro axe.

Two-Handed weapons rely solely on Shock Resistance, not a combination of numerous stats. Therefore, if the weaponsmith uses high SR material, the weapon can become better than they were before the publish.

Armor, as mentioned, will be a different story.

i encouage everyone to sign this coupled with the changes to buffs you will be luckly to get a buff reaching 2k
as most docs have reported finding it incresingly difficult to hit the buff pack power resaulting in 1.5k buffs never mind 2k or above the changes to the crafting system will lead to: a lot of ppl droping crafting profs, a rise in prices on anything near the top end of the spectrum. also prices for decent buffs will likly increase 10 fold as it will be much more difficult to get a set of packs that can buff to a decent level.

test centre master docs have stated that they are actually haveing trouble reaching 800 power packs with the same resources they wer reaching 900 power packs with as a master doc almost every pack made all points go into power with 10 skill points

Just to throw in a few cents from a weaponsmith who reads other boards to guage what the market is looking for etc. While the crafting nerf will allow better weapons in the case of powerhammers for damage what it will stop is the tradeoff of some damage for accuracy in the subcomponents.

Just to give you folks the info, a powerhammer takes 1 subcomponent. Often smiths trade damage on that subcomponent to increase range and thus lower the massive negatives powerhammers have. With the new crafting nerf that trade off won't be viable. End result you will rarely if ever see a weapon with better than -40 in all ranges.

That's the info from someone who makes them day in day out.
Personally I try and make that tradeoff in my power hammers figuring if you hit twice as often a quarter less damage is less of a concern. So from my personal opinion I would urge you to sign the petition, but that's just me. Other smiths might disagree.

Some hammers made after the changes on TC are better than usual so don't go crying nerf until you see this for yourself.

Some clarifications on some of the above info.

The nerf to crafting is to items with mutiple experimentation lines. If the item only has 1 line, chances are that the item will actually improve because amazing successes actually raise the max possible.

For weapons, this means the dmg/speed might be better but because 10 points have to be used instead of maybe just 8 or 9 right now the accuracy will be lower. The 8 and 9 are just guesses. Ask your weaponsmith to see how many they actually put in. Maybe probably have to put all 10 in dmg/speed because they have good enough resources to use them all there.

For buffs, the packs can actually have better power. Although the thing that will suffer will be the charges.

No numbers have changed for crafting. If you got to 95% experimentation in power on a buff pack before you still will be able to now. It just might take an extra exp point. That extra point will mean less charges in the case of a buff pack or stim. I have never heard of someone maxing out charges on the buff pack before power(I'm talking on the final componet, not subcomponents).

Realize this is still a nerf. It is a nerf on all secondary stats(HAM, charges, accuracy, ect..).
