Thread: Scytheblade in PvP
So what weapon is a swordsman's best in PvP?
I have discovered the joys of the 2 handed Axe.
They have a pretty decent min damage.. this helps with most master weapon types who have mitigation 3. ALSO due to the LOWER HAM costs and POSITIVE range mods your not going to miss as often AND it wont hurt as much when you use specials. These also have a good wound percentage and good speed (If your a master you can swing anything thats 4.0 and below atyour cap... for normal attacks anyways)
The new weapon components are GREAT when you add them to a 2handed axe...
The only problem is that the 2handed axe (along with the sythe) is KINETIC damage... and all that 80% composite kind screws that... but we dont have much choice about that, we've only got blast and kinetic.
I also recomend a ranged combat to round out your swordsman abilities... carbines if you want effects...riffles if you want more defense and mind damage.
and the best part about my template is, no way to nerf it, since next patch only nerfs combat defense stacks while boosting doctor buffs... therefore making me better while making other pvp templates tons worse. the accuracy on a PH is no big deal since at master you don't miss much at all. always use intimidate in pvp so they can't dodge/evade you as well. and NEVER rely on warcry/dizzy/kd to kill someone as it is cheap and unreliable plus being nerfed in publish 8
Heh, meaning we lost one of our key strategic moves, the mindbleed, for a sword we dont really want to use as master.. Insane..
I still don't understand why we for some reason desered a nerf, as we clearly was and are not über in PvP.. Also its against everything we wanted.
Anyways, I use 80% kin resist comp armor and I use buffs, but its no use really, against opponents with the same, I'm owned.
Also it's slightly unfair that we have to rely in skilltapes/attachements, food,drink,buff,armor,EXTREMELY INSANELY strong and rare weaponsand modifiers to even be able to stand a chance in PvP, while a TKM, commando or a fencer just needs a buff to own.. And then we get nerfed on top of it all. :/
And if I get it correctly, wacry wont be any good with next patch, nor crafted weapons.. All I can say is **edit**!!?? Is there someone with 200 accounts who keep mailing the devs that swordsman is overpowered or something? lol.. I laugh from despair after reading what people on TC posts.

I have been able to easyly kill TKM's I have turned the tables on them. I picked up carbineer. A couple 2 hand melles a charge shot then a couple melles and they are are down on the ground for you to hit them in mind til they incap. Swordsman are best suited for group PVP though. ?? I want to see any heavy swordsman anywhere in this game hit anything for 1100 during PvP. Certainly not with a 385 max damage Scythe. The Scythe is cool, I like it, but it's just so so.
I hear these tales of 1 hit kills and hits for ungodly amounts of damage during pvp and I have to say...
a. Exaggeration is involved.
b. The laws of PvP are some how different on this server.
c. The calibur of PvP'er on this server is very very bad, or the calibur on mine is super advanced.
I've been Master Heavy Sword Master Brawler for 4 months, I have an alt character who is Master doc Master Muscian and access to a Master Dancer. When I roll into PvP I have all 9 stats buffed, I have the best advanced Composite armor 80% kinetic 75% Energy. I also have some triple stun layered pieces for those Jawa rifle Sharpshooters.
Defense stacking hit my server hard. Most of the imps are Master Rifle Master TKA. In Combat, my normal hit will be for around 40 points of damage. Using an enhanced 2.6 speed 169 - 318 dmg 2 hand Curved Sword. A 3.9 speed 135 - 505 dmg Power Hammer w/ power up. I have a Scythe 2.6 speed 234 - 442 dmg. With 2 hand melee hit 3... I've found the most damage I usually get out of any of these is around 120 points of damage maximum. Now you say you're hitting someone for 1100?
Guildmate of mine got a Gad baton made with an acklay bone shard. The min damage is 289 max 302. With the power up he got the min damage over the max. I borrowed this weapon, being master brawler I have a smattering of fencer moves, I did 3 times more damage using the noob fencer moves that I do with master heavy sword moves with my best scythe.
This class is broken, you can whine and moan about how "you" pWn in PvP, and that we're just complaining for no reason. I started down the path of Heavy sword the 2nd day I played this game right after release. I've been here constantly and throughout that entire time, I PvP on a regular basis almost everynight I play, which is itself almost every night.
Swordsmen are significantly weaker than we started out, for a number of reasons, now we're losing warcry, and we get nothing in return in the means of Defenses for our pitiful PvP damage. We got a "so- so" super hard to make and find weapon with a limited availability.
Keep this up and we'll wind up worse off than Pike... maybe not that bad but close!
