Hello all,

I just pooped my second holo last night and it sent me here. I just wrapped up armorsmith and it was ROUGH! A week and a half of sitting in my basement crafting. I am so glad the holo gave me a combat prof.

I dabbled in swordsman a while back and really enjoyed it. Its gonna be fun to master, I hope.

I will of course read the faq but, I really want to master asap and would appreciate any speed leveling tips you could lend.

Thanks!

I was whoopin' some Geonosian ASS last weekend with just 1/0/1/0 and a speed sliced powerhammer. AOE is the swordsman's friend.

You are going to LOVE Swordsman. I started it a few weeks ago (yea, I'm slow) but these guys - the Swordsmen community - are GREAT!

Well you are going to love Swordsman in PvE, but as a Wookiee I pretty much get pwned by any non-newbie in PvP.

Except for the punk on Dantooine last night talking smack. Newbie, I guess a young kid by his language - I asked if he had a problem and if so I would give him a Reason to shut up. Come to find out he didn't like Wookiees - so he started a duel on me.

Well Reason is the name of my pre-patch BioE Rancor, has 12k HAMs and swings 700's on a .64 to hit, speed 2.4. Oh yea, I'm also an MCH

I woke up Reason, accepted the duel, and said Reason Kill. That pretty much ended that, master marksman or not. I like it when a man listens to Reason.

Well... It seems, and it has already happened some, that we are being nerfed as nerfed can be.. So we might experience som real asskicking in our direction coming up.. :/

But thats just the pessimistic me.

Grats on Armorsmith, and welcome.

To level 2H in Brawler, go ahead and get a 2H Axe right from the start. You will not be certified for it until the first box of 2H, but that is only 1000 points, and the loss of damage from not being certified will not be that significant. Go outside of the city to some of the static spawns to kill the lower level critters there until you get past 2H III. Just north of Moenia on Naboohas a good number of static spawns of lower level critters, but any city will have these kinds of spots. Go ahead and get buffed. This will save you a lot of down time for healing. Get some good ubese armor if you can afford it. After you start working on 2H IV, start getting missions for things like Kaduus (level 12 or 13). Switch toa 2H Curved Sword and 2H Clever when you get the certs for them. You will use the 2H Curved Sword for most of your leveling, but the cleaver has its advantages.

Alternatively, you can get with groups to do leveling to go after higher level critters.

Work mostly mind using Headhits when you get them, and use CenterofBeing (improves your defenses), Intimidate (reduces your opponent's damage and defenses), and warcry (to delay them). After the next publish, Warcry is being nerfed to where it breaks when you attack again, so it will only useful to delay multiple targets or to get away.

Once you get to Novice Swordsman, pickup a Powerhammer, but you will probably not be using it much until you get speed and accuracy bonuses higher in the tree. The PH is slow (5.4 speed) and inaccurate (standard build has -30 to all ranges). However, you can find builds with better accuracies (e.g., -8 to all ranges) and you can get them speed sliced and put on speed powerups to improve the speed. The 2H Curved Sword is still going to be your main leveling weapon.

Once you have gotten to Novice Swordsman, switch to Quenker missions on Dantooine. They are relativlely easy to kill for the XP they give.

Bleeds have been nerfed so badly that they are not as useful anymore. But go ahead and apply the best bleed you have once you get them and continue attacking mind with HeadHits.

Swordsman does great damage in PvE. You will have lots of fun.
