i dont have any speed tapes, but i do carry a high damage hammer, and a speed hammer, but generally the speed hammer is left un-used, and i stick with the slower, but heavy damage one.

Yeah just keep both and do what they said, switch back and forth .. Speed hammer for sucky guys, and power hammer for harder guys.. i bought about 3-5 crates of powerhammers myself , gotta get the rest sliced though

I agree with keeping both kinds of hammers, but with 2hand speed tapes, it does work. I have had +15 at one time and i was hitting every sec with my speed hammer= 3.5, but i also am max out on damage tapes as well, so i hit for the same amount my dmg sliced hammer would do but 2 times faster. I would concentrate on getting dmg tapes first. Plus my speed hammer has +1 ideal which is just sweet, cause the accuracy tapes dont matter as much. Whats funny is alot of master 2hand swordsman think alike, i also have 2 different PHs and i have 2 sycthes on me at all times. The thing that gets me is that when pvping most people have 80% kin armor, so the scythe is worthless pvping, so the blast effect for the hammer comes in handy .Just my two cents

My template is TKM/MSwords with a +25 two handed speed belt.Mytwo best hammers at the moment are this:

I am finding that small differences in speed are irrelevant and DPS is not completely accurate. With no queue and no hammering of specials speed has more to do with how quick and how well you choose specials. Damage and action cost seem to be the most important. With faster speed and higher action cost you are swinging the hammer less and therefore doing less damage. I think it's best to do the most damage you can in each swing and use the least amount of action possible. Anyone agree/disagree? Which of these hammers are better and why?

Any opinions would be great. Help me decide which of these hammers to use an ADK on.

I pretty much agree - we are action limited so I tend to usewhatever hits the hardest for its SAC. This is also why I use damage/speed powerups. The stats on them are like 25% damage / 12.6% speed.. only a small improvement in what the game calls 'dps' but a very nice gain in how much bang you get for the action you burn.

So ya, I would go with the1120 damage 3 speed hammer.

By the way, I really dislike how the game displays 'dps' for weapons.Under the old system, dpswas morerelevant.. with work, you could get speed capped so all moves took 1 second,and your damage was according towhichever special you chained. So dps directly reflected your damage output over time.

In the CU, what can you do in 1 second? Answer: nothing!Fights are no longer just onemove chained, you throw in critical hit / head hit as action allows, andmelee hit fills in the gaps. Your damage output over time depends onthe damage of your weapon, its SAC, andits speed.

Another thing..use Melee Hit on a lair (not an empty one). Notice, you hit for exactly the Max damage of your weapon? That's no accident..as far as I can tell, Min damage isn't used at all! unless it comes into play in pvp or defense or something.So that's another reason I don't pay much attention to dps: it includes Min damage which seems to not count for anything.

A better measure of the rate of asskicking is just Max damage / Speed... I like that to be high, but also Max damage / SAC needs to be high as possible.. that tells you how efficiently it converts action into pain.

I don't use DPS,max damage and action cost are what i look at.For two reason's one your ussually out or close to being out of action (if your fighting something CL of 70+)when you kill him,and second you alway's hit for the same amount of damage with same attack.

Having a faster hammer just mean's you burn up more action,while hitting for for less damage.
