they are actually similar in alot of ways. i think pikeman has slightly higher damage output when wielding a vibro lance. pike also has intimidate and warcry and impale. what does swordsman have? critical hit isnt bad :S i am a swords/tka and it is an awesome tank and does decent damage.

I have to be honest and say that i only tried pike out for a couple of days.. but wne i respeced to Swordsman... OMG...

I love it.. i have a 500-1010 PH that does 480 modified DPS.. i am now our guild Tank...

I admit that having impale and intimidate would be sweet.. but you can go TKM Master Sword 0/0/3/0 Pike 0/0/4/0 medic.. that leaves you with 0 skill points... giving you all the suggary goodness of TKM Master Sword with the added free toys of Pikeman with intimidate...

Sword is a great all round profession.

TKM gives youa great base for defense- just keep stackin on more!

if you want to PVE, try dabbling the rest into pike (after TKM/Sword), if you want PVP, i suggest triple master - TKM/Fencer/Swordsman. -played properly, this toon can take on ANYTHING short of jedi -

I've got M Pike, M TK & Swords 0/0/4/4 - very fun for me, but just personal preference I think. I was out at the Village last night and briefly fought along side a MSM - not sure of the stats, but he definately hit for higher damage w/ his little hammer than I w/ my vibro lance.

i would go swords man for damage out put and good defense mods and good acc mods. dabble in pike 0040 or 0440 is the ones i like the best . pike has area attacks intimadate and war cry .and area knock downs. swords has no stat affects just lots of damage attacks.

i really like my template so far master tk master swords master brawler pike 0040 im droping medic to get more in pike hopefully will be 0440 pike soon not coutning the jedi junk

For me I have Master Swordsman, TKM, Master Brawler and Pike 2242...And in all honesty I couldn't be happier with that template
