Thread: Feeling the Swordman love..

Just yesterday I decided to pick up brawler and get a melee skill cuz pistols have been cheesing me off recently. I went with Swordman because I saw one of my guild's master swordman beat the living puke out of an AT-ST. It was fricken insane.

Well I have up to novice pistoleer and I made a macro to stack two bleeds then switch to my 2H Curved Sword. Oh mentioning this sword made me remember to give a shout out to my guild's Master Weapon Smith Gryph. This sword he made is the finest on the server just using raw materials and no special high end mob loot which I got sliced with a speed slice taking it from 2.6 to 2.1 speed. Anyway, once I was able to use the sword to its full power I grabed my 67% effetive against Kinetic Ubese Armor grab some doc buffs from the guild doc and a dance from the same guy, free of charge of course, and found a nice big den of Bolle Bols. With just having Two Handed II and Novice Pistoleer I was able to solo 4 Bolle Bols with no problem. I stop midway through Two Handed III cuz it was time to sleep. Just earlier today I was working on Two Handed again. Got the buffs but no mind this time. I went from halfway to Two Handed IV to 20k exp short of novice Swordman of just TWO Bolle Bol lairs. Just a note I grouped with my MSE driod and parked at PA Hall and it upped my exp was very very nice. I have been having a lot of fun with this class. I have not gotten to the mind bleeds yet so I know I have been very limited but I am not that far from the first mind bleed. I hope to have that right after I get Novice Swordman. For me this is a lot more fun than pulling a trigger. The weapons look nice and the specials are knida neat. The only thing I have had a problem with is the fact that Breserk1 does not show up in the action que. All in all I think I am also going to master brawler. The best thing I can with swordman is to help the medics and bio engs get the meat they need. Might as well grab the meat from the dead and make some friends. Right now I really like the class and have had a very enjoyable few days beating the tar out of Bolle Bols.

Can you guys offer any advise on where to hunt? What items I should look into aquiring? What do I need to make those uber weapons that have mob loot components? Any other peice of wisdom you would offer would be great.

Thanks

Nice post =]

Another possibility if you are struggling to find buffs, is to invest in a few cheap crates of things like Tatooine Sunburn and Breath of Heaven. These drinks are very useful in helping out HAM costs and making life easier

Food is the greatest thing in the world next to lvl D doc buffs

I always have fishak surprise, ryshcate and glazed glucose pate in my toolbar along with a muon gold for those "oh crap oh crap oh crap" moments

When I've buffed myself up properly and I have a full belly I think my stats are something like 2750 Health/Action and 2000 mind (2500 mind if I've taken a muon).

... which is nice

Ok I'll write you a little something :-)

1 . What tree?

I highly reccomend going up the techniques tree, all with a good speed sliced, and damage power up 2handed curved sword. Getting the techniques tree will get you all the speed you need for using a power hammer. Finesse will come naturally with combat xp. Also with the techniques tree you get your head hits, and once you have head hit 3, don't look at doing any kind of other damage. This kind of damage can't be healed, and Headhit 3 is probably the best hit you will get.

After the Techniques tree it's up to you. I did offense, as area attack 3 gives you a dizzy, and is VERY useful for thos situations when your taking out a squill guardian and all the little ones squirm around you. Hit and area attack 3 and they drop like flies.

You second tree will come very quickly as you have your mind hits, allowing you to take out very tough enemies.

2. Armor? Buffs?

YES. Get your self a set of 60% + Ubese armor. This is an abasloute must for tanking thos big creatures (that give all the xp!). The ubese armor does not have a high encum. either.

I would also reccomend buffs, as your fights will sometimes last a while, and with buffs you can spam your head hits as much as you want :-)

3. Master Brawler?

Many will disagree, butI would say no, its not needed. For posuter change, use 2handlunge1 you get at novice brawler. This has a 16m range as oppose to the 8m, and has a VERY low ham cost, with a good success rate.

If there is a profession I could reccomend, it would be Master Doctor. Migrate all your stats into your mind, and as you are constantly buffed, you won't need your other stats.

With doc, don't worry about pvp, cause all the dizzy/poison/disease you get you can clear you que and slap on a cure in seconds. With master doctor you become the ulitmate PvE tank, and can hold your own very well in PvP. And, of course youll be able to wear composite armor with no real problems (apart from maybe mind, which can be fixed with muon), enabling you to smack the crap out of the AT-ST's, or pretty much anything else.

4. Weapons?

Like I said, use a good 2 handed curved until you have techniques. After that I would use a power hammer for most things, apart from maybe stormies. Get a Damage sliced PH, and use a speed powerup on it.

Ihave heard of some people using 2 handed axes/cleavers in PvP, due to their good average damage. That's a preference thing.

The cleaver coming in looks VERY exciting, I cant wait to try one out.

5. Where?

(note: all this is assumed with buffs and armor)

If you can get hold of buffs and armor, head to Dantooine, and do Quenker missions (5-5.2k payouts). Once your maybe x-3-x-x start doing Savage quenkers (6.8-7k payouts) The regualar quenkers will give you about 2551 xp, and the Savage quenkers about 3,8 I THINK....

After a bit there, try going to Dathomir, and get some Giant Baz Nitch missions. They wont give you alot of problems, and give good xp

That's about it for my little guide really....hope it helps

Thanks for all the advice.

I have a set 66%-67% (some pieces are 66 while others are 67) Ubese armor and I am looking to invest in either really good compositie found a helm with 86% effectiveness across the board except stun. Will be expensive but with buffs I should be able to wear a full suit of it. I am migrating all my stats into my mind, focus and willpower atm.

I have been staying on Naboo doing Bolle Bols getting a little over 3500 each bolle bol when i am grouped with my MSE driod that is parked at my house.

Right now the food is too expensive for my blood as I am working on hoarding resources so I can make my own power ups. I do not make a schematic of anything that is not atleast 96% experimented.

If you are on Sunrunner my vendor is at Xenia near the shuttle port inside the "Rare Loot and Items" merchent tent. Mine is the wookie and more power ups will be added soon.

If anyone else has more advice lets have it.

Thanks,
