Well, I'm a 0-4-2-2 Swordsman now, and I was bored so I decided to *try* to fight the Imperials that have overrun Coronet (on Chilastra). I knew I'd die, but not like I did. My first fight was a Master Fencer/Master TKA. I met him in the Cantina right after I declared. I got the first hit on him and managed to do 200 Mind Damage to him, so I was feeling lucky. However, next hit was a miss, then another miss, then another miss, then another miss, thenanother miss, then another miss, then I hit for 160, then another miss, and then I was dead. In other words, I could've won the fight if I didn't miss so damn much. Why did I miss so much? I think it may have been that my Power Hammer has such crappy accuracy (all Power Hammers do) and most of the fight I was at -40 to -50 on the accuracy thing. Now I wasn't expecting to win this fight, but two hits out of nine is just unacceptable. One I get Expert Sword Finesse I'm getting a Scythe since they're much more accurate, but I still can't get over the fact that I missed so much. I mean, none of the misses were evades or counter-attacks either!

Also, I dueled my friend who isa Master Marksman cause I knew I'd kick his butt. Well, I did kill him in two hits. However, it took me six attempts to get those two hits. So, in other words, the Power Hammer needs to get a little bit more accuracy IMO (no less than -30), but I highly doubt this post will do anything. Just wanted to say don't use Power Hammers for PvP unless you're a master or something.

Well you still have a ways to go to master swordsman... how much of a fight did you really expect to put up against a double master of the two best defensed melee classes? You just through +85 twohanded melee accuracy against a person with +136 (capped at +125) melee defense. Yeah, you are gonna miss a lot with just about any melee weapon of any class at the halfway mark against that template. The power hammer accuracy is a bit harsh, but so is the damage it can do when wielded by a master heavy swordsman. Once at master add some speed and accuracy skill tapes to your armor/clothing and then it gets scary. Don't fret yet, just would strongly suggest not using a power hammer in PvP until you get at least master finesse for that extra accuracy. Also if you really wanna get a more accurate hammer, talk to your local weaponsmith and see what he can do for that range at a sacrafice to speed/damage for the moment, and save your high end hammers until you can wield it more efficiently. Good luck to you and hope you took no offense.

Oh and just for fun, look at the accuracy on this. For some reason I wasn't too worried with using it in PvP especially when wearing attachments that capped speed and accuracy Not much can handle the raw power of a hammer... this was a looted one of course, but some of the acklay ones are coming out quite nice with good slices.

Don't forget if he was using fencer, his CoB is VERY good and will prevent you from hitting him most of the time.

even at master you still miss alot with the powerhammer...its one of the main reasons why i would drop the profession if i do anytime soon.

I have a Hammer from Marlan's in Arakeen on Naboo with a -5 ideal Range...I used this beast to Master Swordsman...it rarely rarely misses...So far, I haven't seen many hammers better than the range on this beyotch...If your intrested in buying it, hit me up in game..I got a new one that does more damage that i use now...The condition on it is still pretty high...

Alright well thanks for all the advice guys... Like I said though, I also dueled my friend who is only a Master Marksman and still only hit 2 out of 5. Oh well, went to Theed and found a2H Curved Sword that had slightly better damage output (it was exactly half the speed of my hammer so it was easy to calculate on the spot). However, the big difference between the two is that the Curved Sword has +8 to all ranges, so I rarely miss with it. I don't plan on PvPing anymore until I hit Master, though, and when I do hit Master I'll try to find a really powerful Scythe or Hammer.
