Thread: Changing templates, hard decision, help me make it!

well, after the warcry nerf, i changed my template from master brawler/master swordsman/tka/fencer/medicto smuggler dirty fighting, pistoleer accuracy line, master heavy swordsman, tka meditation and precision striking, and medic pharmacology and first aid.


ive had a lot of fun with this template, and recently made a lot of money by surrendering a few points of medic as a trade off for the spice tree. spice can really bring in the money! but, anyways, ive decided to change yet again.


my goal is to max out counter attacks and center of being abilities. im looking at one or the other of these 2 templates:


1.

Master Heavy Swordsman

Master Brawler

Medic 3-0-4-0

Carbineer 2-4-1-2


or


2.

Master Heavy Swordsman

Teras Kasi Artist 4-0-0-4

Carbineer 2-4-1-2

Medic 3-0-4-0


template 1 has the best counter attacking ability and intimidate 2. (and also a few little boosts to swordsman mods)


template2 has more melee/ranged defense and the meditation line.


so, which one do you believe would be more effective? For what, pvp or pve? For what reason?

i'd go with #2, the extra ranged/melee defense will more than make up for the small loss of CoB efficiency.


I have a similar template, i'm Master Heavy Swordsman, Master Carbineer, Fencer 4400, 1000 medic


Originally i was going to not master carbines (just max out counterattack), but it turned out to be fun and being a master carbineer isvery anti-FotM, i like to be different

If your goal for carbineer is to take full advantage of CounterAttack stacking, all you really need is CounterInsurgency 1. There, you get a+20 to CounterAttack. Combined with Master Swordman's +110, that will put you at +130, 5 over the cap. But that means that you had to spend 40 points (25 if you do not count Novice Marksman) to get 15 to Counterattack. If that is the only reason to go Carbineer, I do not think it is worth it. Adding some ranged skills with a weapon that is compatible with Counterattack may be, so I would recommend if you go this route, get some useful skills out of the tree as well.

well, the reason why im putting points in the other lines isso that i could land a ranged knock down with good accuracy.


as for y i put some points in the speed tree, so if my enemy get out of 20 meters and has a little bit of mind left, ill hit him with a few scatter shots.


dont need too much speed, or ill be chewing through my ham. also, ill have mitigation 1 from counterinsurgency 1.


basically my goal with this template was to have optimum counter attacks, meager ranged skills, ranged kd, and mitigation to compliment swordsman.


i could kill all those temploiters with my old template, but im thinking this should make things a little easier.


but sotaudi, which of the 2 template would you choose, if you had to, and why?
