Thread: need your advice on crafting a scythe

Okay I am getting new set of scythes crafted and I cant decide between the following,,,
I have 7 identical sword cores,,, at 73 min//42 max and -0.62 speed
should i use these OR
I have yellow cubes at 18//16 ,,, 4% effectiveness
and solidifers at 15//790 and 16//790 ,,,,,
do you think the min dmg 73 on cores would be better or would the yellows and solidifers,,,
and what about versus base yellows like 10//10

If I'm correct I think you must hava a CSR swap the dmg on the cores, makin it 43min, 72(or sum) max....
Those cores are nice tho, very sweet max dmg. I think my local WS makes em about 43/43.... If I were you I'd talk to your favourite weaponsmith and just ask him how high he'd think those cubes/gel would get on cores.....
or you could of course have him make the cores! AND if they turn out better than your cores u got now, use the crafted cores and SELL the looted cores.... Cuz I'm pretty sure you could get some beautiful cash for those cores (I'd give ya maybe up to 500k without thinkin about it)

The only time you need to get stats reversed on loot items by a CSR is IF the stats on the loot item would cause the Min Dam of the weapon to be greater than the Max Dam of the weapon.
Those sword cores should be fine to use in your scythe.

hello, I am an old school ws and an older school swordsman, so I may be able to help here. The thing about the sword cores is that the range mods are terrible. 30 extra min dmg is nice, and the speed isn't too bad, but the range will be. I once made a gaffi stick with some sweet cores that allowed my buddy to break the 300 max dmg mark on it. He said that my regular gaffi sticks out performed it cuz he missed a lot. I tend to go for cubes and solids myself, unless the cores are VERY nice.
Th only thing is that you get 2 scythes with one use of the schematic which could mean more cash or more chances at a good slice. But, I still go with the cubes.

Totally agree, I've made Scythes both ways, and the ones using cubes and solidifying agents always come out better. GL with the scythe

Your cubes and solidifying agents should make a sword core that has stats of 59/72 assuming you are using stat capped steel. I make these very regularly. Base stats for a geo sword core are about 51/61 with 10/10 cubes and +10 max dam solidifying agent.

thanks for all the advice,,,one other thing,,, If i have 6 matching yellows and 7 matching solids could i get two scythes out of a schematic or how many of each do i need to get two scythes

you need 2 swprd cores to make the swords. the cubes and agents are used in the geo sword core schematic to make the cores. not sure how much stuff is needed. go to the weaponsmith forums up on the top there is a guide to looted/schematic weapons.

To make two scythes only using one use of the Schem.you need 7 identical cubes and SAs. One for making a geo sword core schematic so that your WS can make a factory run, that uses up one of each. That gets you 6 identical sword cores. Your WS then makes a factory scythe schem, this uses two of the identical sword cores leaving you with four. The Ws puts the four indentical sword cores in the factory with the materials required whihc will give you two identical scythes.
So you need either 7 looted identical sword cores, or 7 identical cubes and SAs.

what if you dont mind using both uses of the schematic i can in effect make two scythes with 6 cubes and 7 sa'S?

yes if you use both uses of the schem youcan make two scythes with the cubes and SAs you have.
