Thread: Surviving Yavin 4 how do you kill a black sun avenger?

Hi all,
I'm master swordsman and almost master ranger. Tonight I was slain twice by Black Sun Avengers on Yavin 4. Their preferred attack seems to be wait til you are attacking a lair and then join in with the angry critters.
I used mindhit folowed by 10 headhits. I doubt I even took 5% off his mind stats. Meanwhile, my mind went to almost zero and health to almost zero from the 3200 or so buffed. I tried to run for it but was shot and killed. Second time there were two of us but the result seemed the same. Me using my specials, no apparent impact and me being killed.
How do you kill MOBs like this?

As with any high end enemy, run your CoB macro and make sure they stay intimidated, furthermore, check their resistances, I find that the other Black Suns are more receptive to the scythe than the hammer as their kinetic resistance is lower than their blast resistance.

iv found all of my black sun guys on dathomire while hunting sisters/smc's

they're on yavin 4, Not dath. and I steamroll em. I have no problem with them, mabye its because im carbineer too(oh so uber). Ive slaughtered countless Black Sun. BH helmet pants and boots, whoo, oh, and belt too

Although i havent seen any avenger andi have killed my fair share of those lil buggers on yavin i know i can solo 2 of the assassins w/ just tkm so as swords u realy shouldnt have to much trouble the pain is i find assassins just dont kd at all and if u dont watch ur own mind u will find urself makeing a wp and running to the cloner haveing a doc come out buff u then go at it again trust me i know paid sum guy over 100k just so i could camp that spawn to the end. Hey allyou guys grinding ur fs xp can stay on dant by the way lol makes it easier for me no one to come outdamage me

They are usually near the death watch bunker, for those that asked.
You're going after one of the biggest HAM's on them, the mind. Hammers don't have any effect, if that's what you're using. Kinetic damage resistance is still 85%, which can take some time, depending on what you're using. Go after the health or action, and with swordsman, i wouldn't use body hit, it doesn't work too well. Like one person said, keep them intim as much as possible. I have master brawler which makes this much easier. I spam it a few times to make sure it sticks. Always use CoB when fighting high end mobs, it's not usually much but anything helps.

still hold by my statement of me seeing them on dath. killed some of em, been killed by some.

having synthsteak / canape / vercupti (+1k to ham) / drugs on hand all help too vs them. against mobs like that i find it isn't worth it to try and lay a bunch of states and as swordsmen we can't do that anyways... what does help is dot weapons, i have never found any avengers, but i've solo'd a wraith and assassin and such, and i have 2 health fire pikes and a health poison. this with hit3 seems to work pretty well. if you have mind fire, use headhit but mind fire is alot more expensive and harder to find.

Black Suns do spawn indeed on Dath, usually near the imperial prison (though there are more on Yavin IV).
To find them on Yavin check the seaside west of northern op AND especially the zone near the mountain in the NW corner of the map.
That being said, I've killed hundreds of BS and looted several full suits of BH armor but I've never seen a BS Avenger.

I'm at -6050 6050 on dath killing a spawn of Thugs, Henchmen, and Assassins on Dath as I type this.
Read the thread earlier today....once the Nightsisters gave me enough BF... I headed North....well...a LONG way north.
