Thread: Question Regarding PvP and other questions...

I managed too master Swordsman in two days in different caves, that and Pikeman.


Anyways I had a few questions;


1. Is Swordsman good for PvP?

2. What's a good stacking combo? (KD + Dizzy)

3. What's the advantage of having master Brawler?

4. What's the best weapon, damage wise, that can be crafted? (Know of a good vendor with +450 damage?)


My currnent weapon stats:

Speed: 5.3

Damage: 611

Sliced

No Powerup


My template was;

Master Swordsman

Pikeman: xx4x

Doctor: x44x

Combat Prowess: xx44



I found this too be a good template against PvE but I would like too do PvP as a Master Swordsman.

I'd say thats a pretty good PvP temp. A good place to grab KD + dizzy is in fencer x44x, i think you get +40 total in each tree, look into TKA maybe also.

EDIT: oh also brawler gives you +5 2h speed. Gives you a better warcry/intimidate and you get lunge 2 (KD attack). I belive you also get a few more seconds on center of being. 450 hammers shouldent be that hard to come by, most skilled weaponsmiths will have em.

1. If u can play it well it works great...Like every other prof u will need the right gear.


2. Forget about stacking! Go with Doc-Skills. I dont know much about your server but on gorath peps often use dots while fighting...i did quit well as an master brawler/sword/doc 4020 and combat prowess 0004


3. Lunge2(20m ranged kd), Intimidate2, Warcry2, +5 Spd./Acc./CoB/Toughness. I wouldnt pvp without it...


4. If u fight with melee - u will surely most of the times -its all about the min damage cuz the melee migration of your opponent. A good scythe comes with +250 min damage as well as hammers(acklay enhanced)

Thanks guys!


I tried PvP last night before posting these questions. Two guys I was able too take down but then I got jumped by a Master Pistoleer, Bounty Hunter: x44x and he took me out in a matter of seconds. It's rather fun but, like you suggested, work on my gear.

I'll just kinda randomly address everything here...

I completely agree about the Doc thing. Stacking is obsolete now -- however, I wouldn't advise Mastering Doc unless you plan on crafting (I do, but I don't PvP anymore either.)


My most successfulPvP template was something like Master Swords/Pike 2004/Doc 4040/Combat Prow 0004. Notice how obviously focused upon DoTs that is, lol.


But I elected to give up Master Brawler in favor of being able to hit people with DoT pikes better, which I was happy with.


Damage wise, Powerhammers can get up to 1100 damage or so with a pup, looted acklay bones, and a nice slice, but I'm not exactly sure off handwhat the min damage on those are; and min damage is more important when you fight Mitigration 3 opponents.

Doc is good.. but stacking helps lol. 80 def vs KD or 20 w/ doc. True doc can cure poisens but with a +20 skill mod just from swords man, your likely to wind up on ur ass enough in a fight you'll run out of curestates =P

Edit: Posture down is a bigger problem -- I can't argue with that one, although you can /curestate if you get PDed.

first...i said this many times...KD is no prob as long as u are not DIZZY...and i can cure this with 1 single click...and my curepacks have 50 uses...dont think i run out of while a fight... second)a doc 4020 can cure ALL KIND of dots even fire...and pvp´ing by now is in most cases all about dotting and/orwho wins the warcry race....

Get yourself a good armor...u will need something like: 37% stun + 80% elec.(special protection)and 70% base...cross your fingerz for some eff. slice on helm/chest/gloves and boots and buy yourself some psg´s...good ones come with +40% on stun and could besliced like armor...best u get a crate of psg´s cuz they break real fast...havin only like 2800 hitpoints...im sure u got owned by some geo blaster(stun damage)...


A good Powerhammer with +700 max. Dmg. is good against any ranged prof or jedi - both havin no melee migration and u can hit em real hard...a fine scythe with +240 min. Dmg. would be ok for the melee fights...the acc. mods are far better on the scythe(helps against fencers) and melee havinmostly migration +3...maybe some "stackers" switching to a stuner havin lower migration and toughness...

If you dont have much state defense, its likely most of those are gunna stick ya. Doc is a great prof for PvP dont get my wrong, but IMO i think it uses to many SP and IMO (again) I think those SP could be used elsewere to make a more effcient template. Right now, doc is the only thing that keeps dots of ya, and it can cure states. But last time I dueled a doc 1)I made him run out of intim state packs, 2)He was too busy healing states/bleeds/poisen to deal any signifigant damage to me. Personaly, I'd rather keep the states off me in the first place, then have to waste my time curing them. This is all a matter of preference and it fits my play style better, some of you might like doc better then stacking, some might not.

As soon as a stacker is intimidated his state defense is cut to the half! so its much better to be ableto cure states and/or dots/bleeds than trust in defense stacking...

And btw. TKA has no unarmed dizzy2....unarmed dizzy1 and/or kd2...kd2 has a chance to knock down and dizzy...but if your target is kd´ed and u kd him a second time he will be on his feed real soon...and in case i realy get kd/dizzy...
