Thread: Why is there Ab slice?

Why is there an armor break slice, but no protection against roots?

Why not a slice that gives increased resistence against roots and mez's?

What's next will range get some special that drops our cob?

Why does melee even exist in the game when the Devs try so hard to make us useless?

Because no matter how hard they try to nerf melee into uselessness, the inventiveness of the player who loves melee will always outdo them, so they must constantly change things to try and give ranged the upperhand /comfort

As of publish 20 everyone has protection against mez's, at least chain mez's. The only true root is stopping shot and the cooldown timer on that is quite long so you won't be constantly rooted. I love my melee character for small fighting and fighting jedi, but I choose to use my ranged character when it comes to large scale pvp because even jedi play barely more than a healing and npc killing role in big battles. BTW there is nothing wrong with having a competant healer/dragger npc killing machine behind your own lines. Unfortunately it's much more of a support role and most ppl prefer to be the one doing the killing. The way npc's are, having melee guys to take them out is an extremely helpful thing. There's no replacement for a quality healer either. You just have to understand the kind of role you can actually fit into when it comes to PvP type of battles.

oh also, your time to shine is when those turrets are gone and the rush is on. Unleash hell whenever you get the chance (but don't be silly, head in to the base from the sides so they can't root/kd you while you are running up to the entrance.)

As a smuggler I think the idea of armorbreak reduction is a pretty bad idea, especially when wearing 7500+ energy armor against a Jedi, it's like wearing an ADK PSG pre-CU all over again. With 75% AB reduction you're only going to take 16% more damage instead of the normal 65% damage from improved AB.

I am getting a little better against ranged, I'm figuring out a few things but the root is the most annoying though now you get 30 seconds free of root when you sweat the first one off.
