Thread: Scythe or PH

I know that the scythe is faster and has much better accuracy, but the PH has far better damage. SO i was wondering which to use and if the damage really out wieghs the horrible accuracy on the PH./

simple answer- carry both.
if you are not speed capped you can still get a speed sliced PH to get near the cap. Blast damage from the hammer is great for lots of things and kinetic from scythe is good for other things.
at master in PvE the accuracy wont hurt you too much. however in PvP the scythe can help against people with high defences. however jedi have very low defences (unless master defender) so you can beat them with a hammer.

well my scythe does more damage and it has like 200 less damage.. scythe has a HUGE damage bonus. Only use the ph against things with hella kinetic resis

Its the min damage of a Scythe that really make it usefull in PvP environment since most people have melee mitigation which lowers the max damage of a melee weapon 20% per level of mitigation you are going against( Mitigation does not stack if anyone is wondering ). Just use Damage Per Second Calculator to see what has a higher DPS for your equipment and Two-handed Melee Speed.

Always go for the Hammer if you can.... If you are speed capped, Definately, Hammer all the way, and I don't mean the chessy, 450 max regular grinding ones, I am talkin Acklay Hammer, over 700 max un pupped.... personally my un pupped 1050 max is pretty nice... At master swordsman I rarely miss... I don't PvP much, and from what I have seen, Hammer is best on almost EVERYTHING in PvE... Sometimes Resists don't even matter (although Blast is usually the lowest on almost all), because a good hammer can just do so much more damage than a scythe... The only time I have ever used a scythe is when I was dueling a guy who had 80% Kinetic armor he got sliced to 90% (so 90% Blast), so I just went for my 450max unpupped scythe and chipped away at his mind... boy was he pissed...

get speed capped, put all your money into a amazing hammer, then buy a 500k scythe to put in your backpack.

Notice how some people love to show off their weapons when the original question didn't have anything to do with it haha.
In my oppinion i'd say carry both. An ackley hammer and a scythe will have very comparable minimum damages. The speed and accuracy will be very different though. Speed capped will make you want to use the hammer more often but once in a while you'll run across some SMC or NS mob that has 75%+ resists to blast and using the scythe would make it much easier. If you like to run around unbuffed using the scythe comes in handy because they usually have less HAM costs on specials.
