Hiya,

...got these from DevTracker. Must have been an interesting night. I recommend going through some posts, if you want and have time.

For now i don't want to comment on it....so consider this simply food for thought:

Holo, try and be in a group of 15+ and use any kind of gun with an attack speed above 3.0 and you are gonna get about 100 points per creature, and your so far back you get no loot or harvesting because of the ninja looting and harvesting.

And if your grouped with just one TKA forget it no XP for you that day.

OK, that definitely sounds like a problem in the damage per second between the riflemen and the TKAs, or perhaps in the riflemen vs everyone else.

But from our perspective, it'd be far preferable to fix that by upping the fire rate than by giving you single shots that can kill many targets without any risk.

Exactly, why can't we talk to this guy.

Directly?

  • Because we don't want dozens of developers out on the forums contradicting each other, making promises that cannot be kept, etc
  • Because most devs don't have community relations training or skills, so they may well make matters worse
  • Because being a community rep consumes many many hours out of the day and we need devs to be working on the game

There's many many reasons why the communication from us to you goes through relatively few channels. I agree that in an ideal world, we wouldn't need to have those concerns, but... we do.

What they should make groups like is to share the max weapon xp you can get from a mob between the members in the group, and then base it on the weapon you used to hit the mob with.

Exsample.

A group of five is each attacking a_mob01 and all five hit it atleast once for some damage. When the mob dies all five should be rewarded an equal share of the amount of xp the mob would have given to a solo player + an aditional group bonus.

So lets say these five killed a mob that would give 5000 xp solo, they would each get 1k weapon xp, + whatever bonus should apply to the group.

That would be a solution to the current group issues everyone is faceing where some are getting most majority of the exp and some arent getting squat.

Sounds logic....but i guess they would also have to adjust the different advancement requirements for each class....or does a Pistoleer for exampleneed 125.000 XP for his first advanced box ?

Do you actually know if this is a known issue by the Devs....if it is one ?

It looks a bit to me as Holocron didn't really seem to be too much aware of it...

...and if it is an issue or going to become one i guess i don't have to tell you which class or classes hand out highest damage / gain more XP...

now if you make everyone get the same exp it makes LIFE toooo easy...because then someone with novice marksmen can advance past advanced pistols or advanced carbine/rifle withen 1 kill of some beasts and can probably go past expert with 1 krayt dragon kill

I agree, I didnt work hard to get a high level sword for a new guy to come in and share equal xp with me if I do a lot more damage. I do think though that TKA's hog xp...lol. Last night I was fighting a warlord at the same exact time as a tka. It was only us 2. I wound up with only 600xp on a warlord. That seemed strange. He was full when we started.. I have master of sword tech too which is a speed mod..

Don't get us nerfed! If someone in your group asks how much exp you got from a certain mob, and say you got 1500, tell them 500 or something

It always scares me when someone catches me fighting gulamas or something and they see 4 or 5 of them fall at once, they say "Wow, how did you do that?? How are you so strong??" I just say "I have no idea what you are talking about" /burstrun

Ok this might sound stupid so just shoot me if it is....

Here is how I see the exp problem:
15 people (like the example) killing low lvl stuff and the rifleman (wich I am) or any other slow to hit class gets little exp because the dps can't even out for them.

Solution: Have a smaller Group.

Thats not an issue in a 3, 5, 6, or even 8 man group.

Ok I'm done solving all the game problems for the day! =)
