Thread: Major Flaw with the 30 second knockdown/posture change timer
In the Swordsman line there are skills that lower posture. Which means you get hit and you are forced to kneel, if you get hit again and you're forced into a prone position.
With the 30 Second timer Devs are proposing they are going to ruin the combo on the swordsman posture change, because a swordsman will never get to make someone go prone. They'll only be able to make them kneel.
Just more evidence the 30 second timer has not been thought out and is a hotfix to keep people from killing creatures way over their level.
I think the 30 second posture down timer is as much of a favor to us as a nerf. Imagine someone spamming supression fire on you while you try and close in to do damage. Every second you'd take damage and go kneeling. If two people were spamming you with this you'd never move, which as a melee means you'd never get a chance to do damage before dying.
So I'm not sure I'd go clamoring to get this fixed. Brawler classes are the ones who suffer the most from posture down attacks -- a kneeling brawler can't even attack.
And really, it doesn't seem that important to me. I used to think that spamming posture downs was the way to play, but just using normal attacks + intimidate works better because it lowers the damage by a lot and you don't kill yourself doing it.
Posture down should be something you use as a sort of surprise rather than a constant spam.
So IMO the 30 second timer on posture attacks is in our favor.
