Thread: Issue Healing Myself During Combat.

Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but when I am fighting someone or something, I find it difficult to heal myself. More often than not, I hit the stimpak on my toolbar but I get a message basically saying I can't heal this object. I realize what is happening. I know I am targeted on my target and so I am trying to accidentally heal it. What is the best way to heal yourself during battle? Do I have to completely disengage the enemy to heal myself more accurately? I do heal myself some of the time, but maybe I am missing something simple.....

If you're engaged in combat with your target and you hit "heal", it's smart enough that it will heal you.

If you're not engaged in combat, then you must target yourself. I've heard there's a macro command for heal self but I'm not sure what it is.

Also, even though it doesn't show it, the heal command is part of the combat queue, so you need to clear your queue when you go to heal.

Make a macro that does this: /healdamage self. Put it on your quickbar. Use it all the time

I just made a simply Macro that goes like this /healdamage self then added it to my tool bar. This way there is no confusion, and you dont have to keep putting stims in your tool bar when you run out. It will automatically pull any stims from your inventory.

Well you don't have to use a self heal macro or even target yourself. If you're not in battle and you want to heal yourself, just make sure you did not target anything. If you did target something, usually by clicking an empty area on the screen will de-select your target, and you will automatically heal yourself when you do /healdamage, which is the normal medic command.

The best way to do this is yes bind it in macro but if you prefer doing stimmys in the toolbar. Press ctrl + 1 at the same time to target yourself while fighting you can heal and it doesnt give tha message. gtg get out of work in a rush might sound bad lol
