Thread: Question for Gorecki about damage mitigation....
The TKA correspondent recently dropped the bombshell that dmg mitigation barely effects TKA, because their unarmed damage bonus is not effected by it, only their base dmg or VKs, which is small in comparison. The 3 other melee classes however, have their whole damage range reduced. This is huge for swordsman and pikeman, who use weapons with a large range, and less so for fencers.
My question is whether or not this is been discussed on the correspondent forums. This seems like a huge inequity between the classes. I just wonder how this slipped through. TKA has been acknowledged as the best, most complete melee class for some time now, and for them to get as an added bonus, the ability to nearly ignore damage mitigation, is way yoo much.
Yep. It is and has been discussed. I guess there are 2 sides to the medal: on one side you got the increase to our defenses in certainsituationsbut on the other hand some of the most powerful weapons losing somewhat in power in certain situations. This is certainly not an ideal situation, but not game-breaking, like the new HAM system would have been. Therefore it also remained in the publish. Nevertheless us correspondents pointed the weapon issue out to the Devs and will remain close to the subject.
Please keep in mind though that this is only temporary. Throughout the combat rebalance, the weapons pass in particular, all these things will be readjusted again and eventhough i believe that other changes, we don't know of yet, will also play into this matter, me and the other correspondents will make sure that those negative effects of mitigation will be taken into consideration for the weapon rebalance and the new weapons coming in.
The past months showed us all that the combat system as it is, isn't satisfying. The Devs listened and decided to change this with the upcoming combat rebalance. As you probably can imagine, this won't happen in a day, but will be put together piece by piece. We will probably see some awesome stuff happening to our profession, but at the same time also tradeoffs and things that don't seem to be logic at first sight, but what really counts in the end is that the result coming out ofthis is something you, me and the Devs can be happy with.
I hope this answers your question.
Have a nice weekend ![]()

In effect, TKA were given a "bypass melee dmg mitigation" ability. And everyday they still ask for more. Yesterday they had a big thread requesting that their correspondent push to get them force powers at master!
And the scary thing is, who knows, they just might get it. Their correspondent seems to have a lot of pullwith the devs.
