Really depends upon the server but I can crank out the following on Starsider (I'm also a Master Weaponsmith BTW)

2H Cleaver: 101-219 3.4speed

Vibro Axe: 112-242 4.6speed

2H Axe: 134-196 3.7speed

Is it just me or is the 2H axe gonna be the best (Read:Most efficient)PvP weapon after after melee mitigation goes in......Its got the "Tightest" respectable range of damage.

I'm unclear on the damage mitigation thing, it really seems like a bizare system. I read through thunderheart's thread about the combat system, and it still doesn't make any sense to me the way the mitigation is going to work. a weapon that does 1-10000 damage is utterly useless and a weapon that does 200-201 is godly. uh... does this not seem appropriate to anybody else?

charvakas,

Granted you exaggerating to make your point but in reality, you have to take each weapon/configuration and factor in the mitigation. A wider range is affected more by the mitigation than a narrower range, but as your illustration actually shows, a weapon with a wide range but much higher max will still usuallybe the weapon of choice. Using your example, after mitigation, the stats would be:

Weapon 1: 200 - 200

Weapon 2: 1 - 4001

Thus, the second weapon will still be averaging 10 x the damage of the max of the first even though mitigation reduced the max damage of the second weapon by nearly 6,000 points.

My point is just that you have to look at each weapon and circumstance and figure out what has changed and go from there.
