Thread: New Master Swordsman on StarSider
Hey Everyone, just Mastered Swordsman today after a few weeks of casual playing/grinding.
I started off by getting Techniques, then defense, then offense, I already had enough combat XP to get Finesse II from the start.
Just thought some hopefuls for Swordsman might be interested in hearing that,
-Thanks

how well do you do in pvp? maybe u can give me some pointers, im almost novice.
I havent dueled lately, but my friend who is a Teras Kasi Artist dueled me a few times, a few days ago.
I hear it's best to use the fastest weapon in melee duels (but maybe I have it backwards) but anyway, I used a two handed curved sword the first time, and I got incapped, I think it might have been because of his unarmed combo II, or the fact the HAM cost of Head hit 3 was so high that I was easier to take down. I was incapped by mind though, I forgot to put my helmet on.
Next time though, I put my helmet on, and equiped my power hammer.
He got maybe two hits in on me, before I clobbered his skull for 500 damage, and then I simply smashed him once more and the fight was mine. I took very little damage in the battle.
It has been my past experience that power hammer works best in duels, but it is most likely because I am now a master, and the speed difference is practicly gone, and the accuracy modifiers on the hammer (-44 to all ranges) are barely noticeable when your accuracy is something like 100+.
What I usually do is send in a warcry (A novice brawler one) so the enemy is stunned (I also have a bandolier which adds to warcry/intimidate so that helps) and then clobber them with my weapon, spamming head hit 3. If I am facing another swordsman/fencer/TKA who dons a helmet, I will send in two bleeds and then try my best (CoB/Warcry/Intimidate) to make minimal damage while his mind slowly bleeds, when it is low enough to incap with one hit i'll use head hit 3 to take him down. This tactic works most of the time.
I'm mainly a PvE guy, and I usually fight buffed a good deal of the time, although with Tatooine sunburns/glucose plates I can solo Force Sensitives. With Buffs, the hardest thing I've dared to solo was a Dark Adept (FS NPC, 30k HAM, medium armor, 80% resists) I soloed two of these before a lucky mind hit took me down.
I have heard of many master swordsman soloing Krayt Dragons (I'm pretty sure they were all buffed, but I think I've heard of Master Brawlers/Swordsman soloing them without doctor buffs, not sure though) But this was when Krayts had 18k-45k HAM, ever since I soloed that Dark Adept, I feel as if I could solo a Krayt with doctor buffs (And if they were no longer Uber). My main question is, is it true that Master Brawlers/Swordsman can solo Krayts unbuffed (I'm talking about the Krayts before they were given 350k HAM).
But anyway, those are my tips for PvP. I'm probably not your best source since I don't dedicate myself to it (I have a dial-up connection)
