Hello and thanks for taking the time to read/reply to this. I have a few questions regarding the swordsman profession and would like your input.

First, what is the difference between warcry and intimidate? Should I use them back to back? Should I use them again 11 seconds after the first round?

Next, I see lots of talk about mind hits and bleeds however I find that I can take down a tortur in far less time then it takes for one of the bleeds to actually "tick". Are you folks just putting the bleeds on the creatures and letting pets tank for you? I can spam 2hand hit 2 and seemingly drop a mob quicker then I can with mind bleed and head hit2. Comments please.

Finally,I'm currently 0.1.1.1 and was planning on working up the techniques line first. This will give me speed and all of the head hits, however I normally hunt with people who do alot of Health and Action damage. Is there a branch I can go up to remain effective in the group or is it time to go it alone and focus on my enemies head?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Warcry = 10 seconds that the mob you targetted and cried against will not attack, basically holding them in position for 10 second.

Intimidate = I can't remember all the stats on this, but I know it will lower the damage coming in when you actually intimidate something.

On top of these two you should incorporate Center Of Being into your repetoire (sp)for combat, it will help your defenses.

Mind bleeds are for things that just have HUGE ham, let's say you have my template, Master Swordsman, Master CH, 4/3/4/0 medic. You get yourselfa nice high kinetic resist pet (before the patch I was using a gaping spider hunter), sic it on something like a kimo of some sort, Mindhit2, Mindhit1, and stand back for about 6-7 seconds, you will see about 2-6k (depending on how good you got the bleed in) tick off of the mind bar of the kimo. Then since your pet has the aggro, run in and just start spamming headhit2. For lower level mobs and things of the nature I wouldn't suggest using it against them.

Now for pvp, if you have the chance to target someone and notice they have let's say... mind buffs stacked with food and/or spice I would suggest mindhit2 for one bleed just incase they incap you, many is the time I have gotten incapped from about 20-40m away from a pistoleer or something of the nature only to watch them get incapped by the hit right after the bleed (since bleeds leave you with 1hp in the pool which was bled).

You're doing it the way most people do, as nice as the two handed curved sword is, it tops out around 300 damage with a good slice. Where as on the other hand I have a few powerhammers in the mid 400 range (w/o powerup) that have a 3.6 speed, from the slice, now once you get your speed up that high (technique 4) I would suggest using berserk against the normal mobs with a nice fast power hammer, you will be doing about 1k per swing.

And the thing about swordsman (like rifleman) is we get our pool to focus on which is mind. Consider that on most swings against mobs that have no armor and no blast resistance I can get a normal hit of 4-5k with my powerhammer using headhit3. Now take that and take away the 75% for being in pvp, I am still doing over 1k a swing in pvp, I don't know many people who could take more than two of those hits to the head.

You should take all this into consideration when deciding what you want to use your character for. Be it pvp or pve and solo or in a group I think some of this information should come in handy.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Not a problem in the slightest, I have a question up on the Brawler forum concerning intimidate and warcry at the moment, as soon as it gets answered I might have some more insight for you.

Bleeds Come in Handy when your fighting several mobs, Bleed, target next mob, bleed, by the time you work your way back around its dead...make friends w/ a rifleman he will damage the mind pool as well.....

Mind Damage is the be all end all in PVP because its a pretty much unhealable pool...so all those pistoleers with novice medic cant heal your hits midcombat....

Otherwise just do you...play how you like, dont let anyone tell you whats fun, make ur own character, and play it any style you want....
