I am a long-term TKM, and I am moving up the Swordsman tree now (0-4-1-3 at the moment). I am finding PvE much easier as a Swordsman with the double-bleed followed by head hits, let alone blast damage. And with a Hammer sliced for speed, I am swinging pretty fast now and I'm not even Master yet. Have no worries, the swordsman has a very nice dps from my observations.

i wonder what the effects of mitigation are to our powerhammer, cleaver and curved sword... i suck at math, and that, so if somebody could come up with something similar to what the TKA corospondant did, with our weapons, that would be really great.

I have some calculations I did I could share them with you. It won't be a full thing, and these are just weapons I can get my hands on. Well with a cleaver originally 103-224 then sliced for a 30% damage slice it will become 134-291. Then with mitigation 3 on it will do 134-197 damage speed 3.3. A power hammer at 137-469 then sliced for 30% will come to 178-610. With mitigation 3 it will come out to be 178-351 speed 5.3. Take that for what it is worth, I did do a curved sword one, but I think I did that one in my head. It came out to be not so good, and the cleaver is better then it in PvP.

I fought a TKA today, not sure if he was master or not, none the less, after it was over,I checked the combat log... I was only hitting for an adverge of 48pts of damage with a 2h curve, 30% damage slice, using headhit3...I nearly cried whenI seen the TKA was htting me for 170 pts on adverage. I'm a master.

I had another Master Swordsman check his combatlog with his PH, also 30% damage sliced, he was hitting for about 170 with his PH...

I don't recall ever seening a VK that had the same damage range of a powerhammer...

So much for DM helping bring balance

The only good thing, I would have won iftheTKAhadn't burst runaway

Toe to Toe, a good PH will beat me hands down. bleed, plus a spam headhits.

When I duel a swordsmen if I don't kd him right off the bat it's over for me. (I don't wear armor as I need my pools to regen fast).

So far what I'm noticing working up the swordsmen tree is I'm only hitting every 1 in 3 swings.

It's getting really annoying constantly seeing my -Miss- pop up on the screen.

Once you get to Finesse 2 you will notice it improves a lot, after Finesse 4 you never miss, even with PH

I still miss at master, not on creatures, but against TKMs. Also a mind bleed+headhits against a TKM is still a losing strategy after mitigation was put in. TKMs do more damage then us in a duel, and they do it faster. The bleeds have no time to close the gap, becuase bleeds are effected by mitigation too.

Corporate Dan, I dueled a MAster Swordsmen last night, and he utterly destroyed me. I decided not to use knock-down and just went toe to toe.

In round 2, he lost, because I powerboosted myself to 1500/1500/1500 and spammed UA3.

I really think it all depends on tactics, Look at Warcry, very effective in PvP I've used it many times to the fustration of my opponet.

I used warcry too, but it doesn't always stick, and by that time I am usually on the ground or blinded. I know I could beat one if I got full armor, ate lots of food, and had one of the best weapons.

Only thing TK has on swordsman is charing whompa / spitting rawl. Every fight every time it's that combo.

In PvE I can cut through mobs at least twiceas fast as a master TKA and I'm 1/4/4/4 in swords. Measured it on horned voritor lizards on dant we each attacked one at same time, I was done in 20 seconds, it took the TKA a minute of spitting rawl to do hers.

Teras Kasi have a great disadvantage against armored opponents, in this case it was medium armor, so it is quite obvious as to who would win. Youchose to fight something that would give us the advantage.
