Thread: why do people say TKMs are so good?

I've never had much trouble with em, whenever I fight them I hold my own well besides my mind, because the ones i've fought are guildies in friendly duels and i didnt wanna waste canapes/brandies

And in coro today I just beat a buffed TKM unbuffed without my helmet on

Maybe the TKMs i've fought just suck? Or am I a tkm kiling machine?

TKM is just a tank nowadays, they suck as melee mitigation and 80%+ Kin armor takes all of their damage away.

My alt is a TKM and dueling anotherTKM i was hitting for 12-18 damage with headhit1 whilst he was kd. That was using my 213max Nym's VK too.

Only thing that they do well is applying states or tanking jedi, Swordsmen and Pikemen do a better job of killing the jedi.

umm, i'm not too sure.

i was TKM fora while, and all i miss from that is meditation.

i can beat TKM with out too much difficulty, as long as they aren't defense stackers. and with kd food, since i don't really have defense of my own asa swordsman/brawler, i do allright against stackers.

**sigh** i suspect if i had time to get fs melee speed and accuracy, they would stand less of a chance vs me.

TKM is more a newbie prof IMO, speed is capped even before you hit master, weapons are enixpensive, and you get some decenet def vs states. It also has the highest ranged/melee defense. I personally love the meditation tree. TKM isnt much use pvp wise anymore, its a nice tank, and you can grab its defense and meditation trees to make a nice temp with swordsman. Other then that theres not much of a use for them anymore. People talk about kciking jedis ass with tkm.. well you'll do alot better with swords lol.

If i wanted extra def id just get 4-4-0-0 fencer or 4-4-4-0 if you have the sp for it only thing i miss is meditate healing wounds and DOT's except fire was nice... Only thing TKA has going for it IMO is that they tank well in PvE simply being a TKM on its own isnt good enough to be a PvP tank because they get about as much state def as swords or less, so to build a tank id use fencer and pistols. Swords with M.brawler speedcapped with a good hammer you kill jedi a hall of alot faster with swordsman than TKA. M.fencer if you can get a good acklay gaffi stick is awesome VS jedi to because of state def

I picked a fight with an overt TKM, while I was overt. Seemed to do well against him, up until his buddy (Dark Jedi Knight) jumped in. GAH!

A TKM that know's what their doing can be a very tough opponent, but that really isnt the case in most parts because people pick it up and think they will be insta-pwn machines, and then get sadly disappointed. I find that as a master of both tkm and swordsman i used tka until a day ago when i bought an 832 max ph. But I'm not a speed-capped swordsman so im slow as molasses with it, but when i hit, i do damage. But back to the topic. Most newbie tkm's that try to pvp get ripped through, and some that know the ends and outs of their profession can stand up against most things, excluding pikemen with multiple mind fire lances and feign death from smuggler .

TKM used to own PvP before big buffs and high resist armor. That image has just stuck I guess... I'm guilty of being a TKM. I prefer Swords though. I can do double the damage just as fast now.

I'm a TKM, and it has its uses. I do ok in pvp, and i know a few of the tricks, but i dont PvP a whole lot. Right now my problem is High end pve, where tka cant do nearly enough damage to solo stuff. I've been thinking of picking up swordsman or pikeman or rifleman, cant decide which though. I want to keep TKM because i act as the tank in guild hunts a lot, and the meditation i would never give up wound/dot healing is great.

i just like TKM because of the healing, toughness, and cheap weapons. I admit, it isnt the best in pvp now with the high resist armor and buffs, and its not the best in high end pve, but its good all around. I cant solo everything, and i cant beat everyone, but im in the middle and i'm happy

TK is very tough to kill, especially if you're a zabrak. If your mind gets low use equilibrium to even it out with your (usually buffed) other stats. High defense/toughness prevent a lot of damage, Force of will keeps you in twice as long as some other professions, and you can heal off wounds and dots.

TKM is kind of a jack of all trades, master of none. With creature handler backing me up (ive decided to keep it since finding voritor hunters give 900 xp each ) i can have pets poison/disease and deal extra damage, almost like having a group without needing other people. Though most of the time i find myself tanking for my pets more than they tank for me.
