Whats the best line to level up in first? Offense, Defence, or Techniques?

Techniques first. If you have Combat xp capped from some previous profession it'll be a easy walk for you. The 2nd mind bleed (mind hit 2) is godlike.

What do you mean by capped Combat XP ? Can you clarify a little ? I mean I have tons of combat XP used in another profession skills but from what I know I cannot unlearn those skills and transfer this XP to Swordsman...So what excactly do you mean ?

I think he means that if you have got loads of combat xp from another profession, then when you go into the swordsman tree, you can use that xp to quickly advance up thefinesse tree. The capped business is where your combat xp has reached it max and wont increase any more.

Personally, Im still working up the techniques tree to gethead hits 2/3, and along with mind hit 1/2 (mind bleeds) you have a very effective offence, land a bleed first, then pummel away with head hits till there dead

i did spin attack 2, then went for speed... since i had spin 2 i didnt need offence, so i went for counterattack. in the end it doesnt really matter.

Sorry about that. What I meant was that combat xp hits a cap at 300k (combat xp). If you have that you have enough xp to gain 0003 Swordsman the instant you hit novice. Meaning; the 2 bleeds will aid you a lot while xping. And seriously, go for Techniques at first.

The other boxes are not worth it in the beginning. Speed and accuracy are the 2 important things. Speed you get at techniques and accuracy on combat-tree. (Finesse?). Just my tips to you but follow what you want.

I was a TKA master when I started and had the 300k combat xp stored and became a 0003 swordsman to begin, What I did was pull out a powerhammer and bleed the 3-4 critters of a lair then peaced and unequiped the hammer. I stood unarmed with center of being and was being hit maybe 1 out of every 6 or 7 tries. When the critters bleed to 1 mind a simple spin attack with my 2hand curved sword killed em all for a nice 15k or more xp

I personally did techniques first. The speed boost helped a LOT. But I was already a master TK, so I didn't need the defenses. I'd say it's between those two.

i say pick up techniques two first and then go up and get mitigation2 in defense three.

ull have good speed and will only take 50-60% or so of the dmg and when coupled with toughness and ur ranged/melee defense even less.

makes life a lot easier, less trips to the cloning center, u can spaz on specials more since ur not taking as much dmg in the first place, if u have medic skills itll be easier on ur med supply (wanna heal urself as little as possible, since ur not getting any med xp for healing ur self), and if ur group hunting u can spend more time healing and less time worrying about keeping urself alive.

after u get mitigation 2 i say finish the techniques tree. finesse comes while ur leveling the other stuff, and do attack last.

hope i helped

If you have extra points, master brawler and then climb up the techniques and finesse trees.

With master brawler, you get warcry2/lunge2, which knocks em down and delays them. This means they can't attack you, AND you get damage bonus against prone enemies.

Once they're down, throw in the mind bleeds. With skill in techniques, you then get head hits to make the mind pool die faster.

It should go without saying you need buffs. Without buffs, we're weaker than an artisan. WITH buffs, we do the most damage in the whole game.

With lunge2/warcry2, mindhit2/headhit2, I can solo a bull rancor in about 50 seconds or less- and I am by NO means l33t- in fact, my TKA sits unused, and I haveall sorts of artisan/scout skills. With them knocked down, your powerhammer's headhit2 will do 2000-5000 MIND damage to the creature per hit. So if you get lucky, you take down a rancor in a few hits flat.

(Naturally this does not apply to PvP.)
