if we have master brawler could a good vibro axe take the place of a scythe? im using one now thats 115-460ish with 2.2 speed. i'm not sure if the axes can be made with a decent minimum damage but it seems its as good as any million credit scythe iv'e seen on any vendor and only cost me 1k credits.
i know theres the speed cap issue and i would do more damage with a scythe most likelly because of the lack of polearm speed but is the difference significant enough to warrent spending 2mill credits for a scythe.
they both are kinetic.

VA is AP1, Scythe is AP2.
Scythe > VA
Cleaver has the potential to be better however.... although not crafted ones (unless you get a real nice rancor tooth).

Since he mentioned Polearm Speed I think he might mean the "Long Vibroaxe" instead of the normal "Vibroaxe," which is the two-handed weapon you're all refering to. The stats he mentioned are more consistant with Long Vibroaxes anyway, whereas Vibroaxes just suck.
The LVA is medium armor piercing and can be kinda nasty at times. In pve you won't notice such a difference between a good LVA and a Scythe of similar damage assuming you're the same speed. In pvp you will hit for basically the same damage most of the time unless you're fighting a master melee profession, in which cause Max damage is far less important than Min damage. Against Jedi and Ranged professions the LVA will still shine nicely.
I am of course assuming you are a master swordsman and a master pikeman.. otherwise the LVA and the Scythe will both be slow and inaccurate.

yeah thats what i meant...long vibro axe. im mastrer swords but only master brawler. no intention of learning anymore pikes. i just notice the damage and speed seemed consistant with a decent scythe. i use my hammer almost exclusivelly but there are a few times when i prefer kinetic damage over blast for obvious reasons.
I was wondering if these long vibroaxes can be crafted with better stats....what i lack in accuracy i might gain in damage.

I have looked at both of the weapons before I would much better have a scythe, one in the long run they seem that they have a better ratio (damage and speed) than the Vibro Axe. But that is just my opnion. I have only been a master swordman for a short time IE: like three mounths or there around.

I've owned LVAs that are close to 1k damage.... in that case
LVA > Scythe
One of my guildies has a 2k damage LVA

If you're only Master Brawler dont even bother with an LVA, it'll be way too slow and way too inaccurate for you, plus the best attack you'll have is PolearmHit1.. Stick with your Scythe.
Crafted and damage sliced they can get about 180-520 damage. Looted ones can be godly.. my current Long Vibroaxe is 198-796 damage, 4.6 speed, with a 272-strength health poison DOT. Nightsister Protector dropped it
But much better ones than that are brutally common.
