Thread: Are Melee Strike / Melee Assault useless???

I have noticed since the CU, that Melee Strike & Melee Assault do slightly more damage than the standard Melee Hit, but they also take a considerable amount of time longer to use. When I set the commands as my auto-attacks, I seemed to take out mobs a great deal faster with Melee Hit than I did with its advanced versions. I also used A LOT less action in doing so. If this is the case this really needs to be fixed. Maybe the timers/action costsare set too high? Does anyone have any hard data on this?

They are very useful actually.

I use Lunge, Assault and hit when my action is recharging so i can do my big damage again...Simple as that....You may be doing little damage....But a little is better than nothing.

Melee Hit and Strike are on different timers.

with swordsmen your specials are so great no reason to use these lower lever hits but other melee needs them

Like McCrow said, they're very useful when you run out of action. Even with action buffs, sac pups, and action buffing food/drink, I still run out of action lol. Might as well hit for a bit of damage when you can't use the big specials.
