Thread: Whats the best action saving food/drink combo??
Since foods don't stack quite like they use to, i'd say BoH is probably the best bang for you buck you're going to get from a drink and acccaragram (sp? lol) is a good choice for food. There are a ton of foods that do a lot of the same things but vary on fill and duration. Just choose some stuff that suits your current situation. Pixie can help with the action regen rate too I believe if you need a drug of choice
SAC reduc PuP's seem to work well too, but the ones i've seen had a reduc to accuracy tradeoff.....but hey, i'm currently doing anything I can to being limited to 4-6 specials before completely being drained of action ![]()
Blop Candy. ![]()
I found this info on the Chef forum and tried it. The stuff works for like 45 minutes. For mind get spice tea.
- Blob Candy: food, +150 to +170 action regen, 50-60m, 10 fill.
- Teltier Noodles: food, +150 to +170 Health & +100 action regen, 50-60m, 15 fill. Probably more useful for low-CL players who need the health bonus.
- Accaragm / Vasarian Brandy: drinks, +200 action regen (along with differing effects on Health regen and Mind regen), 50 fill, 10-12m.
- Kiwik Swirl: food, +270ish Health & 200 action regen & +50 mind regen, 10-12m, 35ish fill
- Scrimpi: food, +180ish Health & +200 action regen, 18ish minutes, 30ish fill.
- Breath of Heaven / Mandalorian Wine: drinks, +200 action regen (along with differing effects on Health, health regen, and mind regen), 7-8m, 50-65 fill.
With the exception of Blob Candy, Action regen is not affected by nutrition tissues from a Bioengineer. This means that you can get the same effect and longer duration (or lower fill) if the chef has access to the appropriate types of tissues. For most of the ones listed above, a duration tissue would increase the time 40-45% (60-65% for BoH/Mando).
Spice and doctor buffs are percentage increases, and I have heard (but haven't confirmed) that the calculation is done based on your current stats, so 1000 action regen + 200 (from food) + 20% (from Pixie) = 1440 action regen. If the percentage uses your unbuffed stats, that'll be 1400.
The other side is to slow down your action usage. Spamming Critical Strike or Head Hit works well at first, but those "Too Tired" messages really start to eat into your overall dps.
With the cooldown timers, I've found that I seem to get the best speed by doing an A-B-A-B rotation between two different attacks. Head Hit is a good choice for one of those, since it's got a relatively short cool down. For the other, if you're getting low on action try using melee strike (or even melee hit) to reduce your action pool drain. Sure you're not doing as much damage, but even 300 damage is preferable to 0 from being "too tired".
If the battle's been dragging out for a while (generally from getting aggroed by multiple mobs), I'll sometimes switch to an A-B-C-B-A rotation, with A = melee strike, B = melee hit, C = head hit or critical strike. The Melee strike / melee hit combo is low enough in action usage to usually end up above where I started in action, generally giving me enough to throw in a higher damage attack.
I am playing a Bothan (which according to this post gives me a +200 action regen racial bonus) with a 104 sac weapon. I also use scrimpi on a regular basis, giving me 1400 action regen. I haven't used spices or doc buffs much, although I may start shopping around for some pixie as I gain more melee speed (I'm currently swords 4304).
I use blob candy with wafer's (can't remeber the whole name) the wafer's are nice for health regen, and they can stack together. Also through some pixie in there!
If you use the noodle's then you can't stack anything with it,and they tend to have lower action regen stat's,hope this help's.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you take Brandy AND Blob candy once the brandy times out the blob disappears too? This has happened to me twice (the second time just because I had to test to see if the first was real). At least the icon disappears, that I do know for sure once the Brandy has timed out. Maybe the effects of the Blob are still there, even if the icon isn't?
Anyone else run into this?
