Just wanted to let you know this forum has always maintained the highest standards of freindly sharing and help to new players. You shouldn't have any fear of posting your questions here. There are some confusing issues (to this day still) with the profession and we welcome any feedback as well. Finding issues with the SOE search option rarely works so if you can't find your issue in a a moment or two go ahead and ask.

I have rarely seen a flame around here on a new swordsman (thats a nongender term to us btw)So post away! There are a handful of us who check the posts regularly (on the hour or less) so you won't have to wait days for a response.

I'm a former master CH, master pistoleer who has recently holocroned into your profession (I kep CH but dropped the pistols). So far, I have achieved 0/2/0/2 and I'm very impressed! I love the power hammer inuduced mind bleeds and the spectacular AP2 damage is great fun after having plinked away with a DX2 for months on end. At present, my only complaint is the extremely short attack range and the inability to attack while on the run. It seems that I have gone from kiter to kitee.

P.S. I love the forum too. Far friendlier and all-around less flamey than the rest of the boards. A welcome change for sure. Hopefully, the gods of holocronacrity won't send me any further because I'm starting to like it here.

the "out of range issue" is the biggest concern at the moment for all melee'rs. it has to do with your server and the target not being in sync... so the fix is a server issue which have always been a problem with online play.

As for just "range" of your weapon the melee powerups are quite nice. I always have one attached. I use the Health reduction and Max damage one for the Power Hammer but there is one called "extending... something or other" which gives Max Range and Ideal Range (one of my alts makes these). You could try that.

But our sport is one of just..."walkling up to any and everything and plowing in" ! Thats kind of the thrill because you know everyone else is 30 meters away saying... "you're crazy walking up to that!"

Is there a link to a page/faq/guide, with good wpn progressions, tactics and/or special explanations?

Looks like this is gonna at least be an entertaining class to be forced into...
